I throughly enjoyed this video! It gives light to some things of that era, and our Constitution, and the politics of the time. I have visited 4 times through the years. Thomas Jefferson was a great man, wish I could have met him!

I'm watching this on CSPAN3 this morning. I'm excited to see this on KZbin, as the audio is better, so I can share this. My deepest thanks to Mr. Jefferson and Ms. Adams. GodBless!

Abigail Adams was an abolitionist and opposed slavery, while Thomas Jefferson was a slave owner who believed in the gradual abolition of slavery. Yet Jefferson understood and believed in Christ and his teaching that there is one God That Made Us all which made us all equal and members of one race human. Thomas Jefferson made the “Golden Rule” the foundation of American Democracy by changing John Locke’s Natural rights law from Life, Liberty and Property to the inalienable rights of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. The change insures that decisions are driven by civic virtue instead of selfishness. The change resulted from Jefferson’s understanding of the “Golden Rule” and his struggle with slavery. The original draft of the Declaration of Independence contained a scathing denunciation of slavery. Jefferson’s change declares it immoral and illegal to consider one person the property of another. If you would be unhappy being owned by someone else it follows that it is wrong to consider another person your property. If the original draft of the Declaration of Independence had been approved there would have been no slavery after the revolution of 1776. The original draft was not approved, slavery was not abolished, and a civil war was fought leaving a legacy of bitterness in America still felt today. The laws of Virginia made it impossible for a slave owner to free their slaves. If that had been different I am sure Jefferson would have done so at the end of the revolution. Portraying Jefferson as pro-slavery is simply untrue. Why The fight to preserve the Constitution is worthwhile and one no American who be-lieves in God should back away from. tomjefferson1976.wordpress.com/2022/12/22/why-the-fight-to-preserve-the-constitution-is-worthwhile-and-one-no-american-who-believes-in-god-should-back-away-from/ How America’s Founding Fathers Made God’s Law and Natural Law the Foundation of American Government tomjefferson1976.wordpress.com/2022/08/09/how-americas-founding-fathers-made-gods-law-and-natural-law-the-foundation-of-american-government
