Incorrect, Ana. Prior to ACA, they would not treat you, unless you were at the point of dying, so you literally had to get so bad that they were required to help you, or raise enough money through donations, fundraisers, etc to fund your treatment. Healthcare pre-obamacare was literally dependent on whether your community cared for you to come out of pocket for the possibility of getting you treated early enough to beat it. People regularly went home and died. John Q was literally a drama based on the practices within pre-obamacare US health care where a father was driven to the point of taking a hospital hostage with the demand they treat his son and got the point of cutting his own heart out of his body to try and save his son. US healthcare dystopian and Americans were so callous to it that they just saw the movie as a statement of how far parents are willing to go for their kids. Just like Roe v Wade, Americans became callous to what they assumed was a guaranteed and protected right, to the point that ignored politicians saying they wanted to repeal it,when voting for them "because there was no way they could get rid of this policy that is older than they and I.

The Healthcare thing in USA is so weird. I'm a New Zealander so we've always had free Healthcare. If I have a heart attack tomorrow, I'll get free assessment, be thrombolised, have stents or whatever I need, be in hospital until ready for discharge. Won't cost a thing. We have some problems with long waiting lists for routine surgery like hip replacements etc so some health insurance is great for that sort of thing. So our Healthcare system has problems and we're taxed quite highly because of the huge huge cost so not sure if it's better than USA system or not to be honest.

Saying he is for the individual mandate might actually be the worst thing about walz.

Vance looked normal. Even slick. Waltz looked tense, stumbling and frowned way too much. Sorry to say...without fact checking, the optics won out for Vance. Listening to right wing rap ups after this, it's clear they went with the slick guy. The "Mr. Nice Guy" approach was refreshing, but unfortunately in this current race the Dems have GOT to hit back hard. Harris did a great job in her debate. But this one with Tim fizzled. Between now and when this is over, the Dems have GOT to step up to the plate and aggressively hit back hard. That's all I can say. I was disappointed. The point is not to appease those who already are voting for Harris.....it's to somehow turn around those who aren't...if that's at all possible. This debate just did not deliver.

Gov Walz choked like a dog! I’m still voting for him and VP Harris but Lady Vance clearly won the debate.

Good debate, seemed tied. They looked like running mates.

This debate didn’t change a thing and won’t affect support for either candidate. I thought it was a tie. Undecideds are idiots and should just not vote in this election.

Cenk, I totally agree!!! Welcome back to the good old days when we had respectful and sane debates. I would rather see both of them running for president than their tops of the ticket.

No my dude. Vance is good at debating and Walz was not good enough to make him look like a lying fool. However they both hopefully opened all the viewers eyes to more perspectives on the policies. This isn't a freaking sports team.

Cope is thinking trump will protect you with a wall from immigrants and gays is all you need and that his solution to tariff and give big corps big tax cuts is going to solve inflation and your inability to make enough money.

Walz stands there on the debate stage and holds that same bewildered thousand mile stare that Joe Biden perfected. Harris thankfully prosecuted her argument; hopefully voters forget tonight
@kohort1Ай бұрын
It wasn't this bad. Don't let Vance's eloquence convince you he won. He won in so far as Walz wasn't good enough to make him look like a fool. Walz was light-years better than Biden and actually better than Kamala. Vance is just that good at debating and dishonesty.
