I had noticed an awful lot of makers talking about how long they had sat and stared at this new glimmer machine reluctant to get started. I really didn't understand it but thought that maybe I'd like to buy it someday. I too was experiencing apprehension about even buying the glimmer machine. Then I caught the live KZbin with Kristien a d Jennifer about walking through using glimmer plate for the first time, wow! I felt that it was really interesting so I ordered the glimmer machine, but then it got here and guess what? I sat here and stared at it for nearly week. I then remembered the video turned it on and you guys walked me through! Thank you so much the much and I had great success I believe it was because you too stumbled through starting Khristine on the glimmer machine that helped me. I don't understand what causes so much apprehension to start this machine maybe it's the reluctance because it has heat with it. But I do hear about alot of makers having the same reluctance. I would like to suggest a "part 2 of your teaching video on new challenges with the glimmer machine. Thanks Virginia Callahan

I find that I don't get over foiling (or little to none) if I do not sit the plates, foil, and shims on the machine until I am ready to press the ready button. The machine getting too hot seems to cause over foiling. I also only run through once and always use the hinge method that Yana recommends. That way if something doesn't foil right, you can use a little scrap and run it through again. It's really fun. Just takes a bit of getting used to. Great job!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this duo session of you and Jennifer McGuire foil together! I have a foil machine too that I need to break out and use, except mine goes with the CC Gemini as that's the die-cutting machine that I have. I am wondering what people do who don't have a Gemini or a Spellbinders machine, I have been extremely impressed with Anna Griffin's die-cutting machine, Empress, I think it's called and it comes in 2 sizes. Anyway, I loved watching you two great friends work together and create some foiled beauty on cardstock. I'd be thrilled to watch the two of you anytime. So well done, Kristina and Jennifer, thank you for sharing this session, I appreciate learning from both great cardmaking artists! I need to spend some significant time learning the very basics in watercolor from Kristina, starting from the very beginning, as I think that other than using the multiple stencil sets to color, that watercolor is likely the one coloring medium other than using colored pencils that I think that is within my grasp. I have trouble using alcohol markers. Thank you again to both of you, how I appreciate learning from such talented artists and friends. I too think that we are in the end times, too much is happening to suggest otherwise.

This is one of the bestest video I've seen in years. I learnt a lot - like HEAPS. My glimmer machine is feeling abandoned on the shelf. When I finally get to go home (I'm in lock down a long way from home) I'll have to get it out and play, play and play. And it was totally fun. You two really rock together. Like many of the folk before me, please have a few more live videos together. We'll all be leaning together. And definitely don't edit it afterwards. @robincooper93233 жыл бұрын
I started out foiling using Jennifer's techniques and eventually learned that her sandwich didn't work for my machine. I have the spellbinders glimmer and the full size platinum die cutting machine. My standard sandwich now is using only the clear shim with 1 piece of Neenah 110 lb. cardstock folded. I cannot go back and forth otherwise I end up with halos around my foiling. I am using Neenah 110 lb. cardstock, because I couldn't get my 80 lb. Neenah to work. I am also finding that Papertrey Ink colored cardstock works really well for me also. I think the lesson I have learned is that every die cutting machine is different and you have to take the time and find "your" sandwich for your machine. I also find that my sandwich can change depending on which color of spellbinders foil I use, which cardstock, and which foil plate, so I have started keeping a journal of what was the successful sandwich for each plate, paper, foil.

Loved you two together!! Two of my favorite people. And I found the Keto Pumpkin Cheesecake bars in the spring and took them to my Bible Study group and didn't tell them they were Keto and they ALL wanted the recipe! Then I told them it was Keto, but it didn't change their minds, they still loved them. I add chopped pecans and walnuts that I've toasted in the oven. About 1/4 - 1/3 C. added to the crust. SO good if you like the added texture in the crust. I love nuts added to almost any dessert. Anyway you both should do this type of videos together more often I always enjoy it. Thanks for being such great inspiration to us all.
