In this video I Install & Review and my SeeLite Live Scope Transducer pole mount. It's a great pole for the price and I couldn't be more happy with it. Super easy to install.#crappie#crappiefishing

Great video Paul! Hope you enjoy the pole and let us know if you ever have any questions or issues. (also, those stainless lags are mainly for glass boats that have a wood deck. You installed with correct hardware for an aluminum boat.)

It's like lag bolts on the t/m mount. They are fine when first installed, but over time with rough water they come loose. It's easier to do it right the first time. Bolts and lock nuts.

Paul, pretty cool to see how you have your boat set up. I have pretty much the same boat, and I did about the same things. I did something a little different. I made a box and installed it where the foot peddle tray goes to wire in a battery to power the screen and live scope system. I like using the remote for my trolling motor better than the foot peddle, so I don’t need the tray.

Paul I replaced the top wing bolt that holds the transducer pole with a teflon bolt. That way it didn’t scar the pole when I applied some pressure on it to allow the pole to have some friction but not scar the pole. Got it at ace hardware and use epoxy to make my own knob on the bolt.

That’s a great idea Marty, I’ll have to take a look next time I’m out and about and give that a try. Thanks for your feedback. 🎣😎

With a LOT of those Wing Screws, all you have to do is get a plastic (Nylon) bead, and place it under the tip of the screw. That stops any galling on the shaft (They sell some in Industrial Catalogs, just FOR that purpose! I used to make them for the industries in SoCal, until a Big Company had them in large quantities).

Good rundown on installing that SeeLite Live Scope Mount for your boat. It's one I haven't seen out on the water, though! (I'm sure i can spend my $325 better, than on that mount. Even with a bicycle "vise" and some carbon tubing, it wouldn't cost THAT much...!) Lol

Great review Paul, I currently am waiting my my first live scope. I bought the plus after watching your latest video, I was thinking about doing the pvc transducer pole until I watched this video. Was it just a pain to use when you were on the water? I looked at other poles, I thought they were pretty pricey though. This price isn’t half bad at all. I’m only a few states over from Arkansas so hopefully it wouldn’t take to long for shipping. I like how easy it looks to use and how fast you can stow it, then drop it down and first. You’ve sold me on this one Paul. I’ll be re watching this once it’s time to hook mine up myself. Although I have a wood deck so I’ll probably just use the screws that they send with it. But it was a great idea on your part to get the hex bolts. Anywho keep up the good work. I always enjoy your videos.

Congratulations on the new purchase, it’s a fun tool to have for sure. Yea the PVC was just way to flimsy and I just wasn’t a big fan of it. I spent all this money on these electronics and then went cheap on the transducer pole with the PVC. My opinion it’s not worth it. But so far this thing had been great, really easy for anyone to install and you can tell it’s made out of quality material and isn’t cheap. Let me know if you end up going with them and how your install goes. Best of luck 😎🎣

I was watching this wondering why you were doing the pole and then realized you don't have a ultrex, so have to have the pole I would think. I've only ever ran the livescope view from the ultrex pedal. Your setup looks really good!

Great video and seems like a good setup. How long is the actual pole? I noticed their website did not say what the length was that came with the setup. I seen where you can buy an extension pole but never listed the length of the original pole that comes with that setup
@urtypicalguy8 ай бұрын
Nice work! How does it work on the water with the pole down and you're trolling? Does the pole stay put and the neck holds well? I have one that uses a ram mount with a female connector to hold the ball mount (fixed on the boat) to the pole and when I would troll, it would tilt the pole. Just curious how this is in the water when light trolling is involved.
@Paulcatchesemall8 ай бұрын
As long as you’re traveling at idle to slow speeds it’s ok. But you can’t get moving much past that till it starts swaying pretty bad. But it’s fine for just slow idle trolling.
@urtypicalguy8 ай бұрын
@Paulcatchesemall thanks! I have the Garmin Force and it's pretty strong, so the most I'd troll with is about 3 or 4 clicks on the trolling motor. Not sure if that helps.

I actually made it. Cost 20$ from home depot. Its galvanized pipe with threads on the top and bottom. I bought 2 mounts that screw on to the top and bottom. Painted them black. And I attached the mount to the boat using 1/4" hex bolts. Very cheap setup and this far I've had 0 Issues. Hopefully, that helps if not I'll try to explain it a little better. Best of luck 🎣😎

Nice video Paul One question about the pole unit when in the water. When using the trolling motor about 2-3 mph how much flex does the pole have on it or is the pole unit stiff enough to go thru the water. Thanks.

It's very probable that one would use the livescope while having the the trolling motor on spot lock mode. In these situations the trolling motor would turn left and right out of our control...

Soo what exactly does the ZERO Degree mount do and how does it effect the image?
@Paulcatchesemall11 ай бұрын
The zero degree is the mount that holds the transducer at a 0 degree for a transducer pole/rod,just a better angle at sending Sonar to where your looking at. most live scope come with a mount that’s angled specifically for the trolling motor. Can kinda throw you off when you are trying to be specific with where you’re dropping your jig and finding where exactly the fish are.not a deal breaker but when you spend this much money you want everything perfect. Hope this helps.

Very nice. I use the PVC still. I can’t say I’m a huge fan of it but it does do it job. Although I’ve been on the market for a real one. What’s the price tag on these? I just couldn’t pay what a lot of these places were charging. I hate that the market is like that now. But you made this install look nice and smooth and that’s something that appeals to me. I don’t want to have to bring my boat somewhere for someone to install it. I like doing everything myself if I’m able to.
@Paulcatchesemall2 жыл бұрын
Since I didn’t have to pay for the shipping and I had a code to save 💰 it came out to like 275 after taxes I believe. They have different setups that could cost more, but this way worked for my boat. And I’m right there with ya, I really am not interested in having anyone install my stuff or work on my boat if I can keep it that way lol. A lot of these prices I’m seeing for these transducer poles are between 250-500$ 🫤. I’m happy with what I went with. Check them out and see what you think if your in the market. Let me know what you end up doing. Thanks for dropping by 🎣😎
