Hi Glenn. Another great livestream. I hope I can catch you live one day. I'm not a screenwriter but I enjoy hearing your writing advice. Right now I am struggling. I want to be creative and write again but I haven't been able to do it for two years now. I think I had a bad case of burn out and stopped writing stuff...Now I am a different person than I was 2 years ago when I was writing a lot so I don't know what to write about anymore. I have no ideas and feel like I don't have a creative bone in my body right now. I don't know what I like anymore...I don't know how to get that creative spark back I guess where I am excited to write about my ideas and have those ideas in the first place. Sorry for the long comment but if you have any advice it would be much appreciated. Thank you! :D

Hi Mandy! It is VERY unlikely that you had creativity once but now it's gone. It's just buried, hiding, scared, hurt. This is something I think about a lot. Please do look at these videos: Fear Of Writing - kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5zRd6N8pZh1eq8 and Small Steps - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mYaupY2ka6mbpac and About Getting Stuck Or Lost: Some Ways To Overcome "Writer's Block” - kzbin.info/www/bejne/rKmZqoxqmNShY7s and Use What You Have - kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYrZq5KCbd9kf6M and A Process Of Questions - kzbin.info/www/bejne/epe4e5VnfqaqeKs... But also maybe some of this isn't about creativity at all. You've become a different person: were there parts of your creativity that were set aside, or judged, or involved in that? Also: you may be depressed. It's a real thing. It's not a matter of willpower. Look into it, maybe it's making everything harder. For me, the first steps when I'm down and lost are: scale back, and do something YOU like, whether or not it's "good" or has potential...do something that's somewhat entertaining for YOU, even if it's dumb or "bad." And mainly: do just a little bit, as often as possible. It might take weeks or months, but if you write SOMEthing down every day or so...you make feelings and creativity possible. Creativity doesn't come before practice: it comes because you're practicing. If none of this helps, please do email me: writingforscreens@gmail.com.
