Renso . . . I'm still puzzled about your method of starting a painting . . . laying in two values and then going on to begin to pick out the values, colors, features and details. I've studied with several artists over the years and always, we started with a fairly good brush drawing and then began laying in values, colors and details. What is the reason for your method? Your work is top notch . . . I'd really like to know the rationale behind your method.
