It took a few tries to get into SFU but once I "got it", holy shit did it hit hard. Love all of their stuff including the Graveyard Classics albums. The irony? When I tried to get into the band, I was still smoking weed. Got sober and tried to listen again, and I loved it. Awesome that Barnes is now sober too and his vocals have definitely improved as evidenced by the new album, Killing for Revenge. The fact that so many people love to shit on SFU and Barnes in particular, I dunno... I feel like as a fan of the band, it's almost like a rite of passage. All these people hate them while I love them. It makes the music more special to me. SFU have been described as knuckle dragging, Neanderthal music. Another band with that same description is Jungle Rot. If you enjoy Six Feet Under, seriously, check out Jungle Rot. Similar vibes and outside of their fanbase, most people ignore them.

One of the best performances I have watched at KZbin
In 1995 both Obituary and Cannibal Corpse were invincible. This collab between Allen West and Chris Barnes was utterly insane at the time. My friend and I fought over the one remaining Haunted CD at the record store.

The most popular man on the internet today in his prime. Six Feet Under were a combination of Obituary and Cannibal Corpse. I can't understand why so many people have so many negative things to say about them. Might as well be making fun of Obituary. Other than the Graveyard Classics series they did some good albeit far from revolutionary Death Metal songs. Basically if you like the End Complete album you would like Obituary. This ain't Death and Roll this is Death Metal
@dynamo45432 жыл бұрын
it`s mostly the later six feet under stuff thats negatively talked about & the graveyard classics,When Allen West was out of the band thats when it started to slowly go downhill

It's hit and miss with 6 feet. There's some good stuff and good albums throughout their catalog but there's some stinkers also.
@Chudchanning2 жыл бұрын
It's a combination of Chris as a person, the lack of musical innovation/corny lyrics, and his sub par vocal performance the past 20 years or so that have garnerd the hatred. But I still think Haunted, warpath, and maximum violence are all solid albums with lots of cool songs and great riffs. Most people just go with the flow though and write them off completely because they're scared of being associated with bad taste or being made fun of. If any other death metal band had put out those early albums people would probably love them

@@user-pl7lr5dn8q That's a terrible reason to get rid of your draw, and that's what a frontman/lead vocalist is, he's the first thing your eyes are drawn to. And I remember seeing CB for the first time, and it was nothing like my reaction when I saw Corpsegrinder. I don't mean to disparage Corpsegrinder, but he lacks everything that's so exciting with CB. They should have markedet this as "Animalistic Metal" or "Wolf Metal" to mute the future haters with a term they cant f with. This, like Glenn Danzig is summoning the animal in man. Samhains debut also has that howl stuff that you want to howl to the moon in a tribe. This has a similar effect, he even head bangs as if he wasnt entirelyy human, its more of a mightier stronger beast, like a werewolf, in slow motion, only thing missing are claws and hair on the body throughout. And when you watch closely, with your senses not with the eyes, not even that is missing. Saw a few hundred metal bands live and i know that his there is the best you can get in terms of a metal performance that pulls you into a flock of wolfs..

I don't know. I have to disagree. I realize this comment was from a year ago, but I just saw Deicide and Cannibal Corpse a couple of months ago and both shows were packed. And I do mean packed. There was no shortage of a Headbanger crowd at those shows for sure. I also plan on going to see Morbid Angel in about 4 months and I expect the same. Either way I'll always be out there supporting these bands and buying there merchandise. Six Feet Under rules.
