Hi, just had my 72 birthday and am relearning to rollarskat again and working on strengthening all the needed muscles. Still wobbly, yet getting stronger. Thank you for all your lessons. Love roller skating. My grandma lived to 10and 1, so WITH your help and skating help hope to make it to 101 and hope many of you succeed in all your goals. Thank you everyone for your encouraging comments. L. Lee

I am in my mid 50's and re-introducing myself back into skating for the physical benefit and also for the love of skating in my youth. I am filled with joy and excitement to have the opportunity to learn from such an inspirational and passionate person such as yourself. I purchased and received my "Moxi" skates last week ....I am just thrilled. Sorry that this comment is turning into a letter but I also have to say that I had been searching for a roller skating warm up and you are right on. Life is good!

Edna I am in my late 50s and skate every day. I loved skating as a child and wanted to get back into it about 10 years ago. I bought a pair of skates from Estro in the back of a little clothing store in Long Beach and have been skating ever since. Big thanks to Estro for sharing the skating joy. Let's start an Old Broads Skate Team and raise a glass to skating for another 50 years!

I'm 37 too and just started learning to skate about a month ago. I find it a little disheartening watching other people learning to skate so confidently after a week of practice but I have to remember it will click for me in the end! You are amazing and so generous! You, Indy Jamma Jones + Pigeon, Kev + Jaz, GypsetCity and Dirty Deborah Harry are all my skating heroes! Thank you 👍🏾Love from the UK

Hi, it will definitely click, it just takes time. Don’t beat yourself up just because others take to skating faster. You’ll get there and once you do you’ll be great. Let me know how your doing. It's so cool to see others in my age range learning or re-learning. I'm 63 and started skating again after nearly 50 years. I've called myself a 'Non-Traditional Age Skater". NTAS. It was sort of weird at first because I knew how to roller skate and ice skate but it was nearly like starting as a very beginner. What was most irritating to me is most athletic things always came easily to me but I've taken my time and allowed myself to time to re-learn.

Great lesson! Being 55 yrs old, coming back to quads after 37 yrs, I can tell you; skating is nothing like bicycling! It's hard! I'm scared! Earlier I've broken my tail bone three times, I've mangled my knees and my ankles and my elbowes and wrists, either while ice skating, roller skating or skiing. And now - being older my back and pelvis are obviously much stiffer and not as strong. Pregnancies and menopause makes different changes in the body too, and things are not like they used to be... I'm currently rolling in my living room. I tried my land rollers (in lines with two big wheels mounted on the outside of the boot angled inwards towards the middle of the sole of the boot) - and they are so much easier than the quads, man there's no comparisonk! But there is little agility. They are like ice skates for length racing. But I'm working up my dare - and maybe I dare to try my quads outside when it finally stops snowing here... Stay safe! Love and light from Norway!

Hello! Much love! I love watching you guys for inspiration. I'm 59 just put on street skates for the first time in like 30 yrs. It was awesome! I live in Yucaipa at the base of Big Bear, so I haven't managed to find flat land to skate on. So my biggest challenge is stopping right now. I love that you are offering lessons. 🥰I lived on skate before I got married. Started out on metal wheel as a kid. My dad put some GT.wheels on my skates when they first came out, and thats all she wrote! I did visit your store(my friend lived in LB.. we would walk down for coffee, and I dragged her in one day. They didn't have the ones I wanted in my size, than Covid happened. Ugh. So I got some starter skates online. Man are they stiff especially the ankles. I hope to get a pair of purple suade Maxis after I get a bit better. Crazy no one quad skates out here! I'm bringing it back!💖🛼🛼

This is great and thorough for beginners (me). I tried skating 2 whole times, inside and on the porch. 2 falls. Just enough experience to make me really appreciative of detailed instruction. So thanks

I just ordered a pair of derby skates to get a little bit of the feel and am going to order some moxi's here soon, but know they wouldn't arrive until August sometime. I'm having such a hard time picking a style. Torn between lollys and panthers.. then there are the color options and oh my. I already have pink wheels and am in LOVE with strawberry but they all speak to me.

Nice, have seen your story and the great skater you and your friends are, I just gave my pair of skate to my son so he can go with his daughter skating, I know they will have tons of fun.

This is so generous of you! Thanks for the lesson! I hope you keep them coming. Will you go over which wheels we should use for indoor vs. outdoor? I have a pair of Moxi skates, but they have the smaller hard wheels.

You are so welcome!!! Come back this Wednesday! Any wheels are alright for the beginner lessons and all Moxi wheels are made for taking to the streets.

I plan to get a pair of panther skates when they’re back in stock. For now I’m watching videos. I also wanted to mention that I broke my lower fibula in 2017. I haven’t worked on my leg exercises like I was supposed to. But without skates I just tried getting up off the floor like in this video. It worked. My husband told me that’s the quickest he has seen me get up since before I broke my leg. Thank you for sharing these exercises.

I’m 48 and bought my second pair of roller skates….first pair was at 5 years old. I love skateboarding but am better at roller skating. Would hit up a rink once every few years, but got ‘em now and am having a blast. My dr wants me to walk 20 min a day soooo boring to do everyday…. Skating much better! Thanks for this!
