To those reading this please caution and beware of units these days. Things are not as honest and legal as they use to be. I have doing this for over 15 years. Most storagetreasures auctions these days are filtered and gone through. In 2024 alone I have spent over 7 grand on multiple units that appeared nice and tight yet completely fulled with trash. You must go to live auctions only when they cut the lock in front of you.

We started buying units in 1997. I remember going to a u-haul run with $400 in my pocket and could have bought every (not any) unit that day. It was rare to see a $100 unit.

What's the process when it comes to vehicles in storage units? It's illegal to have a car in ur unit, right? The police don't ever get involved? How does that work, I'm confused...

Yes you can store cars. Basically when cars are stored and the owner defaults, the storage facility then has to work to get a clear title to be able to sell the vehicle. They may contact police to make sure the car isn't stolen. Most are sold without the keys.
