This is from what I have seen what looks like solid start for the Game and if it's gonna receive the same love as CS1 got then I'm sure we will quickly push past anything CS1 could deliver. grass, trees, brush for ground, lane highlighting, move it and tree line are mods that could come out in the first month or even earlier if modders are working on it right now. props, more train stations and better models will keep coming out for the coming next 10 years as assets, and customizable parks? like do you realize they took 6 months to build working modular airports, colleges etc in the old games? its not really a day one feature for a game that as we know will keep growing both in free updates with content and dlc addons

I know this won’t earn me any favour, and will likely be taken very negatively… but you would make your lives as CMs a lot easier if you spent extra time learning the game, (including its shortcomings) and also prepared answers to controversial or difficult questions. Ignoring the chat 90% of the time begs why this was even a livestream. Asking “what’s going on!?” multiple times aloud when trying to figure out things is not ideal for front-facing spokespeople for the team. Play this map, and practice building a city and then just do that live, with an idea of what your goal is to show off in the game. You don’t need to be good or super creative at the game, but just not aimless and tunnel visioned when it comes to chat. I’m still looking forward to the game, but this stream greatly shook my confidence in it as there are glaring issues that clearly won’t be ready in time for launch. Please consider this and don’t go on the defensive when reading this comment, its purely meant as constructive criticism. Anyways its comments like this is why I won’t ever get sent PDX things, but I see no harm in providing some feedback, even if it skews negative.

@@kaydxn_rblx one month from a game's launch is usually the time when devs are bugtesting and putting the finishing touches on the game, very rarely would they be adding new content this close to release. if they do listen to the community and decide to add the features that we want, then you can expect a delay. either that or the build they gave to creators was a relatively early build and the current dev build includes stuff like props

56:20 I am surprised that contour lines were overlooked for release. I am thankful that a lot of the focus has been on for the core gameplay and everything is really good in that department. Overall, the team has done a great job! 😊👌 However, as a critique, basic landscaping conviences like contour line or detailing features like line tool seems to be an oversight. Especially since until the game adds their own, people will make mods to enable that. Which I will be thankful for but I like to keep my mods limited so I can run an optimized game.

@@alexyobag How long do you want them to take to make the game and how much do you want it to cost? A few more years and $100 a copy to cover their time/work? They have already added a ton of features/items people have been asking for and need to get the game out to cover their costs. I'd rather get a solid base game with minimum bugs then a mess with too many features that will never get the time to work out. There is more then enough in the game as-is to enjoy it for a hell of a long time. DLC is just the way of life with games now, but this developer has a strong track record of adding core gameplay items for free with every major DLC and their DLC has been pretty reasonable for cost/release schedule and what they do for the game. And if you really feel that strongly don't buy the game...

Contour lines, road zone toggling, and prop/tree line tools are all very much needed... that said, it looks great! Huge improvements over the base game of CS1. I can't wait for patches, updates, and mods (especially for more asset variety).

What i miss so far is an option to randomize the orientation of trees as well as a line tool to draw lines of trees/bushes with defineable gaps between them. Or a forest painting tool where you can choose multiple kind of plants to populate an area.

I see a lot of issues in the game we see here (and what content creators showed) and I get that, it's a beta version and probably not even the latest internal development build that possibly has a ton of more fixes. So there's still hoping the release version will have fixed most of the things people call out so negatively. On the other hand I must say it takes courage to show the game publically like that, knowing there are issues and people will notice. And not just a curated pre-recorded gameplay showcase, but you gave the game to various streamers and content creators to do almost anything with it. The game probably won't be perfect on release day and will need more polishing and will get future updates, etc., but doing all this, you seem pretty confident in what you're working on. I can't wait for it to be released and get my hands on it, tho I still have some concerns. Well, we'll see on Oct 24, I guess.

But it will be out in less than 40 days. It's not labeled as Early Access, developer set full price for this game even it looks really unfinished. 40 days is a blink of the eye. Do you really expect them to re-do like entire game? All textures should be fixed by detailing and resolution increase - it requires weeks of tests and another optimization because GPU and CPU load will increase by a lot. Thousands of missing props should be added, animations for most of the objects are a joke (orange lights in windows regardless to the day or night in the cycle). Game doesn't seem to work smooth even on good PCs (with so low res textures!). There's visible FPS drop when they move camera and it's not even a 200k people city but some small village on the screen.

@@tukezdi Landscaping is a whole different can of worms - no grass, no dirt, no weeds, no brush, no hedges, no meadows, lack of biome diversity, no mulch beds, not to mention the absence of the hundreds and hundreds of shrub, plant, and tree species....no, we get this green placeholder that's supposed to be grass... in 2023 - Props, unfortunately, are reported to be not in the game so far. Things like benches, trash cans, gazebos, playsets, rocks, signs, chairs, picnic tables, gardens, fire hydrants, grills, pools, sheds, tools.... props that make your cities look more "realistic" (their words, not mine). If they keep saying it's the most realistic city builder ever, then they need to focus on not only the mechanics of the game (which looks great BTW with how in-depth we can get), then they also need to put as much effort into how the game looks. Right now, it looks like it was built in 2015.

You're going to be fine with the in game tutorials, the game is very forgiving, there are people deliberately making bad decisions and still succeeding in making money and growing the city.

the game is easy to be honest... just don't grow to fast. You will make terrible mistakes and some will be almost uncorrectable, but to start anew is part of it. This is not a game where you build one city and it is over, this a game were you will try several styles and will get good at some point. From CS1 the bigest challenges were traffic, as even if you have plenty of hospitals, police and fire departaments you could kill a city by not leting help get to peolple; growing too fast and creating death waves; or even not paying too much atention to your money, the rest is "easy" to fix.

Interested in the possibilities of atmospheric phenomena: creeping morning fog on the water and in valleys on the ground, the possibility of adding some other types of natural visual effects and sources of sound effects (and thus create their own unique sound maps), possibly anomalous zones with distortion of space. In general, in the future, such anomalous zones could be studied by research institutes and master new technologies for the development of the city, infrastructure, and so on.

hope this game wont shug in the low 20 fps once you played more then an hour like the first game did. i run a i9 9900k and a RTX 3080TI 12gb. and i cant even run a scenario without mods before i hit the low 20s.

Why aren't there any contour lines in landscaping mode? Why are the buildings during construction just magically appear from the foundation stage, instead of being progressively constructed just like Skylines 1? Where are the bike paths? Can citizens still move in and live isolated on residential zones with no connections? Why aren't the roads being paved when placed, and instead magically appear? (this can only be shown on the slowest speed) why is the grass texture so bland and just green with no detailed grass like Skylines 1? Why can't i make my custom road with what ever lanes i want in-game, instead of an asset editor? Why can't i assign lane direction and rules in intersections in game and depend on a mod? You had so much time and budget from Paradox... I kind of regretting pre-ordering the deluxe edition, if these are not addressed on release i might refund the game

What I've heard from some youtuber, that the version they played (i belive also the version from the stream) is multiple months old. And many graphic things just changed in this time period

Like CS1, NEVER start with wind, you end up spending most of your money and losing money, and then when the power demand needs more, you're broke and cannot build more leading to new city collapsing at the start.

From what we've seen, yes. You can move the camera however you want. Even has a cinematic one.

@@unhommequicourt i couldn't do that in CS1, that's why I asked. Always top down view, more or less zoomed. It would keep you from seeing much of unbought tiles.

Very confused ab the absence of a contour line overlay? Not having it in the beta is fine but not being available at launch is weird and warrants a more formal explanation. The live stream hosts staunchly mentioning it only twice was strange! Why can’t it be added in the next 6 weeks? Will it be in an update post launch?

The game doesn't even require you to build a good city and isn't even about that, I don't get what you all are complaining about, especially since they DID show stuff that wasn't shown in the diaries and answered questions, they did their job just fine.

But i think this video should show the beauty and the harmony of the game by building a good looking city because that will show all the users the potential of the game. Rather than building a city that makes no sense and that is build without consideration. The image is really important and I think they should be able to show the new tools of the game meanwhile the build a beautifull city.

Contours and moveit mods are going to be essential on day one for this game. Can't place trees in the green bit in the middle of the roundabout? Jeez, epic fail there. And the collision mesh for the trees is ridiculously huge.
