Watch as Debbie Tarsitano demonstrates for her class, Encasing Flamework: Designs Under Glass, which will focus on encasing lampworked elements in clear crystal.
Debbie Tarsitano founded Tarsitano Studio with her father in 1976 in Valley Stream, NY. The studio is currently located in Westford, MA. Her studies have included glassmaking and brush painting domestically and abroad. Her work has been exhibited in the Flint Institute of Art, the John Nelson Bergstrom Museum, and the Currier Gallery of Art, in addition to permanent collections at the Chicago Institute of Art, the Forsyth Gallery of Art, and others. Tarsitano has taught since 2004, including at The Studio and the MIT Glass Lab. www.cmog.org/bio/debbie-tarsitano

arrived home, unpacked my suitcase and immediately went to my computer to watch your live demo..fascinating...so nice to meet you and your husband and hope to make corning to see you sometime... kathy b.

i must have missed the moment - was the COE of SA glass mentioned?

The glass is Schott S8, and has a COE of around 108. It is commonly used with Effetre / Moretti that has a COE of 104. Although that is normally to much of a spread between coefficients, the fact that the s8 encapsulates the other glass and puts it in compression creates a very strong finished object.

Eyal Shamir I'm sorry, but I don't know what those are. If they are a type of glass then maybe an experiment will be the best way to figure it out basic compatibility.
