Rishi Sunak has been welcomed to Warsaw by Donald Tusk, the prime minister of Poland, and Jens Stoltenberg, the secretary general of Nato.
The trio shook hands with a row of troops standing in front of a series of tanks and other military vehicles before walking away.

Previously, the tank was used by the 47th separate mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Army; the tank ran over a mine and was abandoned in the Avdiivka direction, where it stood in a field for a long time due to problems with evacuation. The Leopard 2A6 tank was produced in Germany since 1997; when the tanks arrived in Ukraine, they were equipped with additional grilles to protect against cumulative ammunition. We are publishing an interview with mechanics talking about the Leopard 2A6 tank, they promise to restore the tank within 2 days, but judging by the damage, this will be difficult to do.

@@andyrobinson2653 The Bundeswehr has had a bad practice of bureaucratic mismanagement. Making the simple task of buying a helmet complicated since they asked specifically for testing on German heads. Like there is a if it would protect German or American heads any differently.

He says all this while he still effectively defunds our armed forces. We might be on target to hit 2.5% military spending, but when much of that has to go to the preservation of Trident I do not see the situation for our troops changing. What we really need is to re-nationalise the recruitment process and get face-to-face recruitments back as fast as possible to fix our crisis in recruitment. Furthermore, the Navy and Armed forces also need huge amounts of money if we are to continue considering ourselves a first rate military, indeed at present we can barely call ourselves a second rate military with our two barely functioning carriers and our poorly equipped, undermanned regiments. If we cannot afford this, we should instead look to shifting the focus of our armed forces towards a more special forces focused army. The UK has the finest special forces in the world and if we were to expand this program and specialise into it, our troops could serve as the Spartans on the modern battlefield, supporting more conventional militaries through sweeping special forces action carried out by the best equipped and most skilled soldiers in the world. Alas, none of this will be done, as I doubt Sunak truly cares for our armed forces enough to enact this change, nor am I naïve enough to think Starmer will enact the necessary change either. Unfortunately it seems our military is doomed to fall into irrelevancy in a time where we are closer to all out war than we have been in many decades.

We need more seriousness from other European countries like UK. Other European countries must come to grip about Russian threat and realize Europe is lot safer by helping Ukrainians to boot Russians from their land ; otherwise I'm afraid the security in Europe will get more dangerous. Why? Putin is an ideologue, he isn't just president. He sees whole Europe as chess games.

A further £75 billion over the next 6 years that is a substantial amount of funding. So the armed forces is getting the funding it needs but the Army isn’t and the Army is being left vulnerable and weak. Army needs more funding.
