Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is facing a significant rebellion from his Liberal Party MPs over his handling of country's political and economic crisis. On Wednesday, the Liberal Party's lawmakers met for a closed-door meeting in Ottawa. At the meeting, around 20 MPs, out of the party's 153 MPs, opposed Trudeau's leadership, asking him to resign before October 28 or face revolt. This mutiny comes as Canada's domestic issues continue to worsen. The Trudeau government has failed to address critical issues like the high cost of living, broken immigration system and rising unemployment, which is at a seven-year high now, excluding the pandemic years. As per the opinion polls, Trudeau's Liberal Party is placed at 23% public support, whereas the Opposition, Conservative Party led by Pierre Poilievre, is placed at 42.5% public support.
