For the people that weren’t old enough or even around, I can’t tell you what it was like to be a KISS fan in the 70’s, especially the 75-78 era. It was just so damn magical. There was never anyone like them then or since. I’m not the biggest fan of these guys anymore and the less you know about them as people, the better, at least that’s how I feel. But back then when you knew nothing about them and they had that aura of mystery about them not knowing who they were and never seeing them without their makeup, it was unreal.

Same here x 1000. Its funny my faves were Peter & Ace, yet it was Gene & Paul who kept my fantasy intact as long as they possibly could. That being said, Peter & Ace are still my faves to this day. I wouldnt walk across the street to see thier latest lineup.

Hey Johnny, I just bought my copy of the box set of kiss destroyer and it is so freaking awesome and I also got creatures of the night box set as well that I bought three months ago… Super awesome dude! My favorite box set is: The 2001 standard box set and the guitar case box set… yes I do have both of those box sets and they are freaking awesome I even saw kiss four times in my lifetime once in 1979 the other one 1983 the third time 1992 and the last time in 1996… that’s right dude the Reunion original four in make up at that time!!

The Paul Lynda Halloween Special originally aired on Friday , October 29th with an astounding 51 minutes of running time leaving only 9 minutes of paid commercials. It aired @ 7pm CST and after it was over the streets were filled with kids trick or treating dressed in KISS makeup , myself included. There were also trick or treaters on the 31st but mostly younger children . We had our prepubescent fun on Friday after watching KISS . 1976 was also a leap year .

The lack of a VINYL copy of the album, is HUGELY disappointing to me. They pack the box with nostalgia from the era: then give you a CD. Just a STUNNINGLY bone-headed move.

Those years with Destroyer, and KISS ALIVE II were magical. Sweet Pain , and Flaming Youth should have been played more live.

they only started realising this once they started doing acoustic sessions and asked for requests from the fans. Shame really, the set list they have now has been played to death for their entire career.

Flaming youth was in their dynasty set (first song) but not alot since. Sweet pain is hit and miss on the kiss cruises and such.

The Resurrection version would have been nice to be included as well as mentions of Ken Kelly and Dick Wagner but as usual KISS always gives their fans plenty of eye candy and listening pleasure all wrapped up in a nice package . Thanks for sharing and enjoy 🙏

The repo tour program has an image of “ The Originals “ which wasn’t released until July of 1976 . Destroyer was released in March of 1976 , which leads me to believe KISS had plans to release The Originals prior to the Destroyer LP .

The January 1976 Alive tour Stanley used that black Les Paul. There are 2 back to back shows at Cobo Hall on video. Not sure if he used it on both but at least one of the shows he did

Kiss Meets the Phantom was originally aired on October 28th , 1978 which was a Saturday. It had a running time of 96 minutes which was a faux pas by the director Gordon Hessler and Hannah Barbara due to the fact that it was too long and ended out of time which meant it may have been edited for television. Sitting in front of the Television for an hour and a half on a Saturday night is a long time for any young person over the age of 12 or so . That being said , once again all us KISS fans took to the streets afterwards and took our lumps from the non KISS fans .

Hey John I just watched the KISS concert on 6/27/00 at the Meadowlands in NJ again today on KZbin. I have been going to KISS concerts since 1979 , and that was in my top three of the ones I attended.They were just spot on with the crowd energy. Just wondered if you saw that one.Nothing beats opening night in Detroit in 1996 as well.

I saw it on KZbin, but wasn't at the show. I think my favourite Kiss show was Australia 1980. The way Paul sang DRC was phenomenal. if you don't know it, you should check it out.

Yeh lucky Ive still got my copy of Double Platinum I bought when I was 11 years old. My ex, who swiped all my decent records when she sent em back, is short sighted so she probably didnt recognise it as a Kiss album with its foil relief cover, for 'RocknRoll Over' and 'Alive' were not returned, just like the Lindberg baby, never returned!! I noticed that a copy of Led Zeppelin 3 that didn't come back either, sells for around $85 Aussie dollars secondhand! Lucky I returned my mates mint copies of Kiss and Alive to him long before, they would've been nicked too. I really miss my Doors albums too, they never returned.

I cannot understand why some of the other bigger named bands from that era does not follow in their footsteps and start releasing more demos, rarities and outtakes. They give their audience/fans everything plenty. What an amazing looking box set. I may pick up the double record. I saw that you posted a few more videos on the other channel. Hey Rob, well the Blimp sets are amazing too, and I am sure you have those. But I totally agree, more bands should do this. I think the Beatles may have been the first to do this with the Anthology series they released back in the mid 90's, which was also a 5 part mini series on TV, and a DVD set. I love that kind of stuff, lets you get into the life and minds of your musical heroes.

The only issue is a couple have arrived damaged and they do not have replacements because they sell out so fast. I did get refunds and get to keep the albums though.

Oh yeah, best childhood ever worshipping KISS 24 / 7 for what seemed like an eternity. Only bad memory was having only 3 tv channels, & saw a picture of Gene in tv guide, advertising Land of hype & Glory. I counted the days, hrs, & minutes till it was about to air, then a thunderstrom knocked out the power to our house about 5 min before airtime, & came back about 10 min after it had ended. Still pissed off about it btw / lol
