As a military brat, LRH's public active duty record shows a guy who entered the military as a lieutenant and left the Navy as a lieutenant "DURING" WWII, where extremely fast promotions were common. He had essentially a 3 strikes career that ended with him having pink eye and the Clap. Absolutely nothing to brag about.
@caldy206

Absolutely true. He didn't command anything. That was just something he made up along with sinking a Japanese submarine. The stories that man made up. He definitely didn't live in the "real" world.

@@manuellubian5709 LRH'S military career was DONE prior to getting the clap. That was just the military's way to wash their hands of him. The important part was failing in multiple leadership command opportunities.

I was going through downtown Clearwater to head to the beaches and saw a large number of people in black slacks and blue/black vests unloading off a bus. My first thought was, "Damn, that's a lot of caterers." 🤭Had no clue I was looking at SeaOrg members.

This was a great conversation. Mike, I totally respect you not being able to talk too much about when your ex was forced to have 2 abortions - it's a situation that can feel like it rips your heart out of your chest. (Regardless of politics, since I think everyone feels an extra bit of rage towards scientology about this. After all, the 'choice' in pro-choice isn't meant to be a choice for the pregnant person's employer.) But in case you or anyone else *does* end up wanting to talk about this stuff, I wanted to mention 2 non-political organizations that exist to help. One is a textline called Exhale, and the other is a talkline called All-Options. I've volunteered with both groups, and can vouch for the fact that I've talked with a # of people who feel a need to talk about experiences that they had years or decades ago. And a lot of those folks were guys wanting to talk about abortions that their partners/wives/exes had.

The biggest thing re: pro-choice is that the sea org members aren’t really given a choice. As abusive as forced gestation is, so is forced abortion.

I went to the Mace Kingsley Ranch twice. Best experience of my life. I wont downplay abuses or trauma that some may have experienced but for me, the guy who ran it set my life straight. Yes there are tons of stories, some legend, some embellished, some BS but it was definitely a ranch run for the unruly kids of Scientologists. Later on Scientology upper orgs like ASHO, etc. sent people who were "Type 3" there. Those were segregated from the kids but I learned about a bunch of this as I remained friends with Wally for the rest of his life. I'll never forget one thing he told me years after the ranch ... as an OT 8, Class 6, he confided that he was "still a crazy Marine" ... It really got me thinking that Scientology just can't fix everyone. And now after I left Scientology for good, I realize Scientology really cant fix shit.

One thing I appreciate from (all of) your training is the attention to the tiniest details that make the picture you're all painting with words that much clearer. True storytelling, listening to your discussions has me feel like I'm sitting at an indigenous circle learning the ways of the world. For me, what I hear being shared on SPtv, these behaviourisms are common in many corporations which I see as borderline cultish... rich listening material for humans to hear and identify those smudgy grey areas we might be crossing into questionable lines of integrity into the dark side.
