How long has LAFD been using the term "mayday"? In 2013, i was speaking to a BC and he maintained that if a FF gets in trouble, he calls priority traffic. It is good to see you guys using the standard terms.

We transitioned from "Emergency Traffic" to "Mayday" specifically for a firefighter down related transmission. We still use Emergency Traffic for dangerous situations that all need to be aware of e.g. wires down, collapse zones, etc
