Great beginner tutorial! One thing I would add tho, the upper teeth on a person are attached to the skull and don't move with the mouth at all. Having the upper teeth go in and out like that can make a character look really creepy and freaky. In a way that the viewer might not even be able to realize what's bothering them about the character.

I'm glad it was helpful!. Also, I totally agree with the upper teeth point in regards to the skull attachment! To make the steps easier to follow on how to use the parameters for the mouth, I applied the mouth shape sheet from the beginning of the video. Those kind of shapes are commonly used amongst mouth rigs and the anatomy rules tend to bend a little bit there. BUT if you want to check some anatomically accurate examples of mouth animation, I'd recommend you search for: Theartgun in google, personally I haven't found anyone that come close to her accuracy in terms of mouth tracking and rigging 👌

Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial! It was really, REALLY helpful! I will say, I had some trouble when it came to the copying and pasting of the keyform. I tried following the instructions but it wouldn't work for me. What I did find that workd was right-clicking the dot of the keyform I wanted, going to the drop-down menu that appeared by the number box and clicking "select" instead of clicking and dragging to highlighting everything and then following the rest of your instructions.

Very helpful! I've started mouth rigging on my own model, do you have any tips or advice on Mouth Rigging with Head Turns? It's been very difficult
@Inkugaki_Live2D2 жыл бұрын
The best advice I can give you is, rig your mouth's open and form parameters first. Then make an x+y position warp deformer containing all the parts and other deformers of the mouth, DO NOT add x or y position to your mouth open or form parameters, if you do that is going to be really extremely hard to make it work. Usually what most likely will happen is that, as soon as you turn your head, your mouth is going to deatach not following certain movements. hope that helps!
@SmallisTall2 жыл бұрын
@@Inkugaki_Live2D Thanks for getting back to me! Just for clarification, you mean Parent Warp(MouthXY)-->Child Warp(upper mouth) + Child Warp(lower mouth)? I may have to redo bc I have been warping the meshes individually in XY when I have a linked Mouth Form/Open parameter selected...
@Inkugaki_Live2D2 жыл бұрын
@@SmallisTall Yes, that´s the hierarchie you need to use. You have to redo the angles in the new warp deformer but the good thing is that you´ll find this way this way is 10 times easier!

my top and bottom lip don't have skin on them, so I'm having to warp the meshes for the mouth like I did for the eyes. Is there a way to not have the inside of the mouth clip so much in the shift? For instance, for my closed mouth, the parameters are at -1.0 and .0, and the next opening sequence above that is at .1 and .0. But it still has a goofy warp right in the middle of that shift from open to close. How do I fix that?

I’m working on windows and I’m having trouble making the mouth form inwards. Can anyone help me?
@Inkugaki_Live2D Жыл бұрын
Hi if you're talking about moving keyforms inwards, on windows would be shift+alt and then drag them to the position you want! hope that helps :D

Hi! Ive set all of my expressions accordingly to the parameters but in Vtube Studio its not doing the Mouth wide open or the O, and A shape I created. Can you help me? Thank you
@Inkugaki_Live2D2 жыл бұрын
Hi! This are some things you might want to check out for Vtube studio and hopefully they can help you with the mouth problem :D I can think of a couple of things If your model is not recognizing some mouth movements. 1. Check the camera you are using, depending on the amount of frames of your camera, the mouth tracking might be more or less smoother. 2. Check the lightning of your room, the brighter the better 3. If you are using VTube studio on Mac, there are times where you need to restart the program because for some reason some mouth shapes won’t show at all (has happened to me before on an old Mac I have). If none of the above works, then you might need to tweak the facial recognition in VTube studio, you can check this options: 1. On the camera settings in Vtube Studio, look for the “mouth open sensitivity” this might help on fixing the problem a little. (The less sensitive the easier is going to be for the mouth to open and usually change shapes) 2. The last thing that comes into my head is, the microphone settings on VTube studio. Now the way they work is really simple you set up your mic and Vtube Studio is going to track it, down at the bottom you’ll find the phoneme configuration where you can increase or decrease the transformation of your mouth and that can help the model have a little more accurate mouth transformation. I hope this helps! :D

i have 1 question:should we put it for lipsyncing orr....
@Inkugaki_Live2D2 жыл бұрын
Ok, so the parameters that we use are mouth open and mouth form, when we link them, the mouth shapes will correspond to our lips when using a face tracking software like Vtube studio. Is important to know that a better lip tracking means a better camera (Iphone cameras are the best for tracking) or even an extra software like Vbridger. For Vbridger the mouth requires a totally different aproach when rigging it tho.
