The idea originally was to have Mick and David do an international duet with Mick in the USA and David in the UK. A six second satellite delay made that impossible. So instead they recorded the single and made this video. It might be a little hard for people under forty to understand but a collarboration between Bowie and Jagger was unthinkable before Live Aid. They were two entirely separate musical styles. But thats what happened at Live Aid. Plenty of unthinkable match ups.
