Regarding collegium system of selection of SC judges it is correct. Afterall a judge has to be selected based on the judgements he had given till then. Who has patience to go through all the judgements he had given and make an opinion on him - Whether he is poor, average, good or excellent? Politicians or other citizens will go by hearsay or impression or on other unprofessional consideration (for eg . My cast, my state etc ) if they are given an opportunity to select a judge. So there is nothing wrong in judges selecting judges. (If a scientist should be selected by other scientists after carefully studying all his research papers published, a judge of SC should be selected by other judges not by x, y, or z). This is how the collegium system can be improved: There should be three collegiums - Two for shortlisting and one for final approval. The base collegiums should exchange information. That way the process will be faster as work of reviewing the judgements of candidate judges will be faster. How to begin : The collegium should ask all state bar associations to recommend the names judges (including recently transferred out judges) whom they think are eligible to become SC judges along with a copy of the candidates' two best judgements. This will help the collegium to get started quickly. In rare cases an SC lawyer will be considered if he is interested.

But, both JS & RaGa's fathers were/are politicians, and over the years we have come to expect very little morality, values ethics, and virtue from politicians & their kin. But, we've always held the Keepers of the constitution, justice, law, ethics, and morals - judges - in very high esteem. We hold judges in much, much higher esteem than we hold any politician. And to put a judge & a politician on an equal pedestal is sacrilegious! For a judge, the Keeper of truth, the law, justice, and morality, is always higher than any politician can ever hope to be. And therefore, the entire collegium system, a system that has blatantly placed bloodline over merit, is an oxymoron, especially among a group of people that have the enormous burden of making sure a nation walks in a straight line.

The India justice system is broken. Even the Honorable President of India said so in her speech on Nov 26, 2022 Justice delayed in Justice denied. Millions of Indians are impacted by this (while only 10,000 has viewed this speech) It's high time our judges worked faster, and more effectively. What is the CJI doing in this regard? India needs more fair, unbiased and incorruptible judges.

Our constitution and the basic law should be included in our curriculum, I would prefer to be taught at the earliest, at least fifth grade. @@anuran.chowdhury chill brother. You (if not the son/relative of a judge) and me aren't going to be a supreme court/ High court judge, despite having the same or more knowledge than any other judge. But the son/daughter/relative of the judge will become the judge. The judgeship is reserved for about 150 families in India. Collegium emerged after second judge case 1993. It is just like the Varna system of post vadic era in which the study was reserved for upper Varna. Here it's reserved for 150 families. So just chill man, nothing is going to happen in the near future, it is now basic structure after fourth judges case 😎 By the way I consider myself not godi media/dalal/ or saffron sympathizer 💐
