We need regulation in this country to stop ultraprocessed foods from being completely rampant. Currently, they are more "normal" to many people than produce, eggs, meat, etc... and no one pays enough attention to the damage it's doing to our long term health on both an individual and societal level. Unfortunately, the federal workforce that would enact such regulations is among the resources in danger under Trump's current agenda - complete chaos in terms of federal staffing. The Human Foods Program and general food and nutrition policy is a stated priority of RFK Jr, and we will see if that plays out positively. I hope it does.
