The one of the best usages for UART is for router/modem connection. I managed to upload custom firmware into my router via a cheap CH340 module which removed all the restrictions of my ISP. Hacking is fun :)

High? 19 200 baud is, in fact, 19.2 kb/s. Please note I mean kiloBITS, not kilobytes. That's 2.4 kB/s! Even dial-up is faster! And nowadays, I use 115 200 baud for ESP32's serial debug interface, and 1 500 000 baud for sending the code (or it would take an eternity to send the 2 MB of code).

Awesome video ! I would like to try something like this, are there any other challenges for other types of arduino or for atmega microcontrollers ? Or can I try this challenge on my atmega or arduino uno ?

The arduino nano has an ATmega382p. So I think any board with the same atmega should work. I think the Arduino Uno also has that one? Just try it ;)

it does work on Uno. I used a Uno during RHme for some unencrypted RE challs like firmware.bin on FridgeJIT
