I was there as a 13 year old Palace fan..And 10 years later we did lose 9.0 but we then beat Liverpool 4.3 in the semi finals at Villa park..

John Burridge is permanently rooted to the goal-line. He makes great saves, but his terrible positioning seemed to have always cost goals.

I was there on the kop with my mate Paul Harry, John Burrage was a good keeper although we played for achieving clubs.

Palace's season went downhill after this match - it seemed to dent their confidence and self-belief. It was if they suddenly decided they weren't worthy to be up near the top of the 1st division after this mauling (it could have been a lot more than 3 - mind you 10 years later it was a lot more than 3)
