Preferring to sign Alisson and not Van Dijk is nonsensical. We don't get to Kiev and probably don't get top 4 without signing Van Dijk in the January. And the alternatives were Koulibaly and Laporte. Both decent, no where near Van Dijk, one of the best centre halves of all time. As good as Alisson has been, the drop off from him to whoever else we got and Van Dijk and Koulibaly/Laporte is drastic. And that doesn't even consider us choosing not to sign a CB. We could have had options of Lovren, Matip, Gomez, Klavan for a season or two longer.

Liverpool lost 7-2 at Aston Villa, and this was before Van Dijk's injury-prime Van Dijk. We lost the 2017/2018 Champions League because of Karius. If Alisson had been there, it would have been a different story. It’s only when we signed Alisson that we started winning trophies, beginning with the big one-the Champions League. So, I say Alisson is the greatest signing we’ve made in the Premier League era.

Keep VVD and Salah ..if you can keep them. If VVD get injured or his CB pairing dropped the ball......among our current forwards.....without Salah primero form atm......we are fucked. Because of his assists. Gakpo and diaz and a fit jota and macca and harvey and szobo and Cujo can score goals....but the chance creation comes mainly from the middle under Arne Slot.....OR if the midfield is overrun....,the chance creation fell back to the right flank to Trent and Salah.....if our defence is leaky....we need our attacking line to score more goals than the opposing team. To say that VVD is most important without having thst insurance in salah...is pure madness😅😅😅 The other forwards can score goals....,BUT they seemed to be having a tougher time to score THAT MUCH HARDER.😢😢😢😢

You know it feels like Salah leaving is worse than Trent leaving. We need to think a bit logically as well here. Trent is 24-25 easily can play 5-7 years at top top level. Salah is 32-33. Yes he is a beast and he doesn't seem to be slowing. Yes he is the best player in the world atm but when you are reaching a certain age the form doesn't gradually drop. Remember what happened to our midfield. Suddenly one season you don't have the legs anymore. In Salah's case he may well be in this form till 35 but the risk of drop off is higher. For that reason i would keep Trent over Salah. Having said that i really hope both retire at Liverpool ❤

Salah is adapting his playstyle. He rarely uses his pace anymore. Reminds me of how Messi started to adapt after getting older. His playmaking is getting better and better and he just knows where to move into to get the goals. If he was running past players id understand but he rarely runs at people and sprints past them now. His game is changing to allow him to stay at the top longer.
