I was 13 when I went with the school in 1984. It was truly mind blowing. Absolutely breath taking & amazing place.

i worked there before during and after the event the lowest paid job i ever had but the most satisfying job and this video brought back some great memories

I went with my High School and it was amazing. Went back when Pleasure Island opened, and that was good too. Went back 20 years ago, and it was absolutely shocking. The dome was falling down, the waterfall and lake was a mess, the Chinese garden and Pagoda's were destroyed, abandoned cars everywhere including one stuck high up in a tree down an embankment! It's good to see they've finally redeveloped the site in to a beautiful parkland, with a housing development to be started soon, which was part of the original plan back in 1984 after the site closed!

I remember the yellow submarine - As you can see in the pics, you could climb up inside it. Years later, they put it as an exhibit at the side of the Dock Road in the city centre, but they'd sealed the doorways up to stop dossers using it as a shelter/toilet.

Was seven when I went there with my parents, it was a blazing hot day. I seem to remember the 'homes of the future' exhibits weren't working properly because the entire site was powered by wind and it was a still day. Went back when it was Pleasure Island. I loved it there.

We went there as a family from Anglesey I would have been 8 at the time. I have some photos of the day out with my lovely gran. Was a good idea for regeneration of the area as Liverpool is definitely a different city now

I was only 3 in 1984 but I remember visiting this. I remember the totum pole, the dragon, the yellow submarine and the statue of Lennon
