As a Feyenoordfan, I already made several comments about Slot. The good, but also the bad. He is clear, every person in the team accepts their fate and respects the communication, his training exercises and tactics are top quality and he creates a team of athletes that will fight for each other and crush their opponents with their physique. He actually gets players to reach their full potential. Now, the bad. At AZ and Feyenoord there were numerous matches that started out lack lusterly. Slot somehow manages to fix that before the second half of the game, but it has happened the opponent would dominate. Secondly, Slot's team dominates in triangles, but sometimes they forget to become opportunistic. They will choose dominance over risky runs, shots or long passes. You won't see many shots from outside the box. Opponents that 'park the bus' - aka overcrowd the center with defenders - have a real chance of defeating Slot's team. Regardless he'll win everything at Liverpool. Good luck, boys

Slot is wise enough not to repair what wasn’t broken and slowly implement his ideas. This Liverpool team is built for dynamic counter-attacking and counter-pressing game. That’s part of both Jurgen and Arne style. But Slot is more pragmatic in his game. That’s why we’re seeing more possession-based episodes and, sometimes, the lack of immediate pressing when opponent has the ball. But his adjustments are extremely dosed and don't affect overall balance. So we're witnessing an evolution similar to that Pep did with ManCity: extremely effective and deadly pressing/attacking team becomes dominant in less-paced scenarios. Liverpool still can't trash the opponents with fast attacks and draining pressing but you also can't expect them to play too risky and "park the bus" against them because in this case they'll simply dismantle you in possession

something that stands out to me is that based on Slott's tactics will allow Liverpool to sustain their intensity over the course of the season. It seems like Liverpool got leggy and were barely hanging on at the end of every season. But with Slott, he rotates and subs players in a system that doesn't require the athletic intensity and gives the players permission to play the back back in order to restart and reorganize as opposed to loosing off lung busting runs that don't always pan out.

Everyone is talking about control, but I don't think Slot's Liverpool controls possession more than what we saw under Klopp. However, in the Slot system, we are able to force the opponents to play a certain way against us, attack us in a certain way. We don't attack relentlessly even after we go forward, i see better game management at times and also, whenever the opposition seems to go score, it seems we are able to respond really really fast.

I think what Slot has, is a lack of ego. He saw what Klopp had done, kept the good stuff, but bought in his own ideas where he felt it was needed. What I think was the best move by Edwards and Hughes was to bring in a manager that had a very similar style and a style that fit the players at the club. That has made the transition infinitely easier for the players. While there definitely are differences between Slot and Klopp, the important ones are very similar. Even in their personalities there are similarities. Klopp was very outspoken and passionate, Slot is also someone that doesn't mince his words and while he isn't passionate like Klopp, wearing his emotions on his sleeve, he's still passionate in wanting the players to express themselves. They're both also very demanding while at the same time very sympathetic to the players as people and trusting them to do what they do best. Neither forces players to fit their style to a T. They adapt their style to accommodate the players to get the best out of as many players as possible while still working within their framework.

Yes. The keyword of Klopp's team is Chaos. And the risk of this gameplay is always as huge as the reward. These days, you cant risk many points to go to anybody's hands other than yours, especially in Leagues. So, the transitions to Slot approach of winning games is such a relief that i felt waching Liverpool recently.

Slot seems to me like a guy who's supremely confident and it really looks like he's passing that confidence onto his players and also the fans, certainly this fan anyway. Jamie Carragher said something about the people who've been saying that Liverpool haven't really played any of the top 6 contenders but I thought he made an excellent point by saying that you win leagues by beating the teams that you're expected to beat, with him pointing to Man. City last year who only got 1 point from Arsenal over 2 games and only 2 points off Liverpool over 2 games and still won the league. Arsenal will be extremely tough in our next game but it's probably the best time to play them with their 2 most important players not available with Odergaard out injured and Saliba serving his suspension. Saka is a major doubt as well. Still a very hard game though especially at the Emirates but right here and now I still think a draw would be a good point. YNWA

People in charge of football even certain government ministers have always wanted Liverpool to fail or to be as quiet as possible. From the fans booing the national anthem (rightly), to the players even though the best in that position not getting picked for the England side, to players supporting fan or fans personal fights and all the really bad decisions that go against us in crucial matches that are an offence in other matches but not in the game we play. Margret thatcher called the Liverpool fans the enemy within, I was at Hillsborough and saw how the filth treated dead and dying Liverpool fans spitting on them telling them hurry and die scouse scum, get used to the establishment not wanting this club to succeed, but that’s all the fun because when we do succeed there is no one that’s beating us ever, slot will do what he needs to do against different opponents, look what’s happened all season adapting controlling and winning, personally the forest game was a great win for Forrest they knew who to bully on the pitch and that was all the South American players who didn’t most travelling and it worked, but slot has adapted, wait and see why the club signed him, we will win but be patient everyone gave klopp 4 years and his last couple of years were poor really poor, this is a step in the right direction. Slot still hasnt implemented his style yet. He wants more control but the profile of the players means he cant always have it that way. For example, we currently dont have any player that is comfortable in receiving from defence 100% and turning to send it forward, gravenberch can do this, but he's naturally prone to staying up, jones is naturally good at receiving and holding very well, but not too good at turning and sending it forward in one move, macca is a bit shaky in receiving from the defence. Also, szoboszlai isn't the best at giving the most accurate passes, ending up losing the ball while trying to send it forward. However, if we add a pure dm who is comfortable in these phases, we can move macca to the number 10, further getting the best out of grav too. Its exciting whenever i think of what slot's team will be like when he finally is able to buy players.

"a period of inconsistency to once again being a dominant force in the Premier League" they were top of the league for most of the season last season, and were in contention for a quad until injuries and exhaustion caught up with them. Let's see where we are at the end of the season before judging Slot.

9:09 I know this video isn't about Allegri, but I hate it when people criticise his attacking game by only looking at his recent tactics. Look at Allegri's Juventus from his first reign after Conte. First season, 102 goals, Serie A win, Coppa Italia win, Champion's League final. Look at some games and see how Tevez, Pirlo, Pogba and the tactics create beautiful attacks. Let's look at 2016-17. 112 goals, Serie A win, Coppa Italia win, Champion's League final. Dybala, Higuain, Pjanic, Dani Alves create amazing attacks. Allegri wasn't always this "park the bus, find a random goal and win 1-0" manager. He loves to play, he loves to set up teams to attack well, but he needs to have to personel, the right players to do so. Just compare what kind of squad and what kind of budget he had to work with with shitty general managers to what he had after Conte with Marotta building squads for him. Night and day. He got the most out of that awful Juventus squad. If we take someone with more attacking mentality or someone who doesn't put the defense together like Allegri did every single season, then Juventus is nowhere near top 4. Even Klopp wasn't able to instantly win everything, he needed 2-3 seasons to build his squad, to have the right players with high quality that can play his style. Allegri didn't have that chance when he came back to Juve. The club was in a shitty place financially and Giuntoli was only signed in the last season when Allegri couldn't benefit from his signings like Motta does now. Put some respect on his name and watch some Juventus from 2014 to 2019.
