Arne Slot is more focused on defensive solidity than all out gung ho attacking football and this has benefited Liverpool so far. Sure it's kind of boring to watch but it's controlled boredom to see out games without much fuss. Today's match was an masterclass in restraint by Slot which made Chelsea look better than they actually played. Liverpool hardly pressed the ball, let Chelsea have possession and after the second goal they basically didn't come out of first gear. As a result they maintained their defensive shape and barely gave Chelsea any chance of a comeback.

Liverpool deserved to win. The game plan was clear for all to see. Liverpool were going to sit back let Chelsea have the ball and then hit on the counter. I don't think people realise that we still have have more than 30 games to go this season and are assuming that we won't pick up any injuries throughtout the whole period. I find it ridicilous that we are being told we are title contenders. Just started the season mate, good progress and a very good start but lets not get ahead of ourselves. Considering it's Slot's first season I am happy being in the top 4 this season. Lets not get our expectations too high only to be dissapointed.

The issue we had was playing lavia and caicedo, it meant palmer was stretched too thin and he couldnt really take hold of the game. The ref was terrible but Liverpool were the better side and it was a fair result even if it didnt play out the way it should have

My honest reaction as a Liverpool fan. We won the game today. I wasn't happy with the ref, but Chelsea I think are a better team than Arsenal, and City. They will definitely challenge later in the season.

Really just a tactically match today, both trying to nullify each others solid attacking threats. Very tight game, Chelsea were probably the better team overall, but not much in it. Difference was, Chelsea's immature defence gifted Liverpool with their two goals and Liverpool's mature defence was solid as always, not allowing Chelsea many opportunities. Some promising signs for Chelsea under Maresca when compared to last season under Poch at Anfield and Slot continuing on the up for Liverpool.

neto was great when he came on, he has this football intelligence. He was trying to attack from wide area but found no end product and switching to coming more narrow putting more numbers in the middle really change the game. This is something we can learn from the players. Sometime it doesnt work in one minded direction then you gotta switch up and progress into open space in the middle.

As a Liverpool fan I thought Chelsea were really good, I think we edged it with the tactics and a bit of individual brilliance (Jones had a superb game), but I thought right after the game that Chelsea fans had nothing to complain about, their team gave it a great shot and couldn't really have done much more, they were very close to equalising and would have deserved it if they had.

I’m a Liverpool fan. Last year Liverpool choked Man City in home game. Despite draw, Liverpool showed dominance. I expected game to be similar against Chelsea. But it ended up opposite. It seems Our aim is to always get poised first after getting the ball. Even though this is great defensively, the front three doesn’t have much of counter attacking opportunities. It’s very less compared to last season.
