The start under Slot has benefited from him being an unknown factor - teams have been thinking they can come out and play against this Liverpool team, and they’ve proven time and again how easily they exploit that space. I think by next season you’ll see a lot more teams playing deeper against Liverpool. You’ll probably see it in the latter half of this season, with repeat fixtures.

consider that -the midfield has settled as they all arrived last season (not really due to Slot) -that Gravenberch has established himself as the 6 that Liverpool was direly lacking for all those years / one of the best in PL (Slot) -that Gakpo play where he used to play as LW (Slot) -that Diaz is back to form after last season where his father was kidnapped (not really due to Slot ) -that there is more rotation and a less aggressive style that favors less injuries (Slot) -and last but not least that Salah is on track to having the best season of his career and possibly the best season "statistically" of PL history (not really due to Slot) and you will reach the conclusion that ,as often in life, the reality is complex and nuanced : something of it is due to Slot , some of it are circumstances. Spurs fan here - I remember Salah as a youngster (early 20s, i think) absolutely running rings around our team when he was at Basel many years ago home and away in a Europa League (I think it was?) tie. I'd already seen him play before and always wanted to have him signed as he was a very special talent! He ran rings around us again last week - some things never change! He had a slow start this season but he's certainly gathering a real head of steam and is virtually unplayable week in, week out!
