[ ▼ Livesplaining 017: Long Liturgies, Big Graces + Q&A | Timestamps ▼ ] 00:00 Stream starts + introduction 01:37 Catching up with Fr. Bonaventure and Fr. Gregory 05:50 How to draw the most out of Holy Triduum? 08:52 Spending time before the liturgies Q&A + COMMENTS 12:54 | Q1: I have been contemplating the meanings of peace and grace both from their respective and comparative meanings, and then how they are applied in scripture and how we might apply them in relevant ways in today's world. How might we better understand these terms? - Eva 16:31 | Q2: As a recent convert to the Catholic faith, I often hear "The Lord's time" meaning not what I want when I want, but when The Lord deems it fitting, if ever. How do I reconcile that with a passage from scripture like 1 Cor 7:29 "I tell you, brothers, the time is running out." - Cindy 19:06 | Q3: What is the difference between infused virtues such as faith, hope and charity and grace? - Ann 23:06 | Q4: Hi Fathers - could you say a little bit about how the Resurrection contributes to our salvation and perhaps suggest some readings or other resources for learning more? 29:55 | Q5: Hi Fathers, off-topic but I would like to read St. Catherine of Siena's Dialogue. Which translation would you recommend? 32:25 | Q6: People in my community are suffering from acedia, and not wanting to make any commitments and do things because they don't feel called to anything. What's the best way to encourage action in friends? 36:22 | Q7: When talking about the eleven passions of man, can you explain why despair is considered an arduous good and daring, and arduous evil? - Kristin 40:47 | Q8: How do we make sense of crazy Old Testament commands (like Leviticus 11:7 telling us not to eat or touch pig)? Obviously, this isn't something the Church follows today, but are we wrong not to? - Sophi 44:17 | Q9: I recently heard an argument from a Calvinist that Jesus' "descent into Hell" from the Apostles Creed was His physical/spiritual agony on the cross. Can you explain the Catholic view on this? 50:38 | Q10: Will you speak to the proper role of our environment? Is the charge of Genesis, to be good stewards, because it is God's creation but also that it is subordinated to the (proper) use of humanity? 54:00 | C: Thank you! 54:02 | Q11: Hi Fathers, I was wondering what are your views on how much news a person should consume? I've been finding myself avoiding the news because of how depressing it always seems. Is this wrong? Thank you. 55:35 | Q12: Fr. Gregory, I'm looking forward to reading your Prudence book! What's the best reasoning to argue that God is at work in particularities of our lives (i.e. outside of the Church)? 57:57 | Q13: Fathers, are Protestant pastors committing the sin of scandal if they lead a Catholic away from the Church? 1:00:18 | End of Q&A - Godsplaining - Prudence book 👀 - stream ending

My FSSP parish has the full pre-1955 Holy Week and has a beautiful schola and Gregorian Chant choir. Palm Sunday blessing of palms, procession and Mass was about 2 1/2 hours. Time well spent. Love it all. The Church gives her absolute best during Holy Week.

As an Anglican I celebrate similar liturgies, since my church is high church Anglican. It is my favorite time of the year. Starting tonight, we have liturgies every day through Sunday.
