I have two questions dear dottotech 1/ Can we resize video windows on the canvas and also crop them as we do in observation. OBS allows resizing of video windows and also cropping. 2/ Can we use any other app to change the scenes without using the mouse or keyboard. Apps like Touch Portal let you do that on OBS and it comes in very handy for those who can't afford buying stream deck. I am not referring to the picture and picture mode though. That also shows the desktop. I am talking about adding a video window on the canvas and resizing and cropping it for both camera source and media source.

I bought ECamm 1.5 years back, before there was this pro version you are demonstrating here (or pro+ beta upgrades?). Sadly, it appears the ECamm folks have disappeared the option for selecting an external audio source (I used my Blue Yeti). This had been included in my original account purchase. This sets a bad precedent. The new features are cool, but will the ECamm folks take any of those away next time they upgrade? (Maybe the green screen?) ... Please correct me if I am wrong on the audio source issue. ... Considering that I went through hell with the third-party Camera Live app that was required to connect my DSLR (consistent failures to connect that tanked my attempt to deliver several important meetings I was tasked to stream) I'm feeling twice burned right now. Is Camera Live still required? ... I still love the idea of ECamm Live and am back considering pro version if these issues have been addressed. Still a much better package (in theory) for the price then what else is out there. Oh, and props for a very well done introduction to the platform.

Great video as always Steve. I used "ecamm live" as the tool of choice for my weekly live Fb community show. I agree with all the positives you shared. The only issue I've had, and it's a big one, is that, to my knowledge, the only way to have a live guest with Ecamm, is to use Skype. Now, I might have missed something, but if that is the case, I am going with something like crowdcast. For most people, skype is an ok solution, but in my opinion, for business professionals in my industry, skype has gone the way of aol email. Just my two cents, other than that, Ecamm is really cool.

Checked out vmix for windows you suggested when running on a windows machine. Looks pretty good and they have free version at lower resolution but to step up to higher, it only cost $60 once, not subscription. At least it looked that way. Now all I need is a KZbin channel, vmix , a desire to be live and $$$. Never was a fan of live but I see merit in it for certain circumstances. My problem with most live channels is to get to the point you have to listen to a long string of hello so in so , how you doing?. Then sprinkled all through the video, just as the person is about to say something of worth, they stop to say howdy again or thanks for the money offer, ect. It makes my thought process stumble, for lack of a better description. I understand relating to the people live but reel it in for God's sake. 1 or 2 hours of what could have been 20 minutes is just too much for a lot of people with little time to waste on the social side of it. I think the live stream popularity shot up from 2 things. Many liked the one on one live with channel owner and second, the creator does not have to edit a polished video. I can see how that last part would be appealing. At any rate, all of you that enjoy live stream's, have fun. I for one have to struggle to stay on one to the end.

This is awesome! Especially having a broadcast professional present it. (I'm one of those, too.) And a broadcast professional who's a dog person, to boot! (I'm one of those, too!) Couple of questions: 1. How many scenes does it allow you to set up? Just four? Or more? 2. When you set up a scene of an external video that you want to bring in, does it just play from the beginning? Or can you set an In and Out point on the video you're bringing in? (Like I might want to play it from the 3:25 mark forward, not just from the very beginning.) 3. Is there a limit to the number of cameras it will allow you to use? Like you, I'm not impressed with the built-in camera on my iMac. But there are plenty of external USB webcams that can be purchased for not a lot of money that are pretty darn good. And I do have a Canon DSLR (7D, an older one, but I believe it does have a USB cable). 4. Is there something special that you have to do to connect a DSLR to get it to work? I mean, other than powering it on on the camera and have it properly framed and focused, etc., etc. I mean is there something special you have to do to get the video stream to get from the DSLR to eCamm? Great video! Thank you for making it. My viewers will thank you, too. :-)

Hi Steve, I enjoyed your video but the audio is very slightly out of sync, meaning your voice comes earlier than the images, especially when you change to a different camera when it becomes even more obvious. Surely there must be a way to counteract this unfortunate glitch..? I've just downloaded the Ecamm trial which will only recognise one camera at a time. Am I doing something wrong or is this the way the trial works? Anyway, appreciate your enthusiasm! xxx

Hello Steve! I recently started using Ecamm Live and have had trouble using 2 cameras simultaneously. When I go live, the live stream will work great for about 5 minutes then the cameras will freeze but my audio will continue on the live stream. One camera is a Cannon EOS RP and the other is a Nikon D7500. I am using a Focusrite 2 channel usb audio interface on a MacBook Pro 2013 edition. My laptop has 8 GB ram a 2.4 GHz processor running Catalina 10.15.3 version. Is my ram the problem?

Steve, I could really use your help. I’m disabled, a former broadcaster myself and have been doing a live podcast on Twitter and Facebook now for almost 2 years. It revolves around a network show with police officers on it. I interview the police officers and people watching the podcast get to know them better and ask questions of them. Now I’m learning fast moving this over to KZbin is a lot more intimidating than I expected. I’m a Mac user and am between Ecamm and OBS. I have about a five minute video to be set with a countdown timer for people to start checking into the channel before the live show starts so they can start communicating with each other. I think that’s a good thing. If you don’t mind helping another person out, what are your thoughts on that? The other questions I have are all kind of tangled up. To do these interviews can I use FaceTime as I have in the past or do I need to move to Skype? Can I be running the pre-recorded countdown video while I have the interview cast on a connection already on the side dad the viewers cannot hear or see until the countdown video ends and the show can begin? I although would like the comments to pop up on the screen so the viewers can see them. This is an essential part of my podcast that I don’t want to lose. It’s how many of the viewers ask questions of the guests that I have on. Can I have the viewer comments show up onscreen during the interview show? My friend, I could really use some help with this. I have my gear to do this but I could use some expertise and help. It’s kind of like having the interviewee in “audition,“ while the countdown clock video is in “program.“ As a former broadcaster I know that will make sense to you. Can it be done like this using Ecamm Live streaming to You tube? Thank you Steve, your help in advance really is priceless to me and I could sure use it.
