Soon as you hear this you know who the true talent is today Richie leaving certainly took a toll on JBJ voice but Richie brought the blues to every Bon Jovi songs all you have to do is hear dry county one time to realise the Bon Jovi we hear today as gone and Jon is lost creatively.

Thank you. Richie's voice is still awesome... He still has that grit and power in his voice. And whenever I listen to this song, I can't shake off the image of a handsome young man with long dark hair and glasses shredding his guitar and rocking that talk box from the original video of this song. Richie was and still is the coolest man in rock & roll x

Great song...still king of cool. I think Richie lives, breathes & feels his music which makes him truley authentic. His sometimes messy life adds fuel for lyrics that resonate & his soulful poetic side makes him vulnerable & human to all who admire his talents. I know he's a rocker but its his singer/ songwriter persona, just him & his guitar singing his songs that touch my soul....no trying to be cool, no airs, just the music & the talented man it comes from.

Agreed. Honestly I’d rather watch Richie solo. At least we can hear some decent singing, without Jons ego. Richie still has soul, and his voice is clearly far stronger than Jon’s now. I think at this point neither one would want a reunion. Richie can still put on a respectable show, and Jon’s ego wouldn’t take Richie back since his voice has fallen so badly since Richie left

I think you are right. Jon’s ego is just one of many reasons why Richie left. Richie made Jon sound so much better. Jon has lost his voice. Help by showing some support for Richie at this link. teespring.com/stores/alienoutsider43

My thought too. They should face that they will not be able to continue like the stones or aerosmith, although those bands are Jon's benchmark. Jon's voice is simply gone and will never come back. On the THINFS tour he sounded awful in comparison to their last WAN tour in 2013 ( and even then people were already having remarks on Jon's vocal capacity). Also in during those years ( 2007 - 2013) Richie did not have his best years. His focus was often off and he was clearly struggling as we al know with his drinking problems. A final tour with the current line up AND Richie in the band would be a last 'great' thing to see. Even then, it would be more out of nostalgia because both Richie and Jon are so far away from the top of their game that they will never come close to the level they once were. And even if Jon always claims he'd stop before they became a nostalgia act, he should know that ever since 2015, they became a nostalgia act. What Bon Jovi is putting out now has nothing to do with what they once stood for and Jon Bon Jovi should have release all of this under 'Jon Bon Jovi' instead of using the name of the band for this as clearly it is just Jon, John Shanks and what's left of the Bon Jovi.

@Elvistico
@Elvistico 4 жыл бұрын
Sambora has always had the better voice of the two. Sambora really was the power and the rock'n'roll in Bon Jovi. And the combination of both made them stand out for above many other bands. Without Sambora, Jon really lost his wingman and I honestly think Jon is to blame. Had he not pushed to go on a massive tour in 2013 - Sambora might still have been around. Cause it is right after Sambora left that Bon Jovi started to tour completely different by cutting up one tour into chuncks and going out basically 1 season per year for 3 years instead of touring for 3/4 of a year and finishing a tour in the same year.

@@Elvistico absoulutely wrong. Jom is a tenor he could sing between 5-6 octaves which is Way higher. Jon had a powerful and beatiful voice much better than sambora. And yes they were totally in sync and their voices Sounded Perfect together. And yes Jon lost his voice. But that is due to constantly hitting the High notes. And When richie made backup vocals he sung from the throat and not the chest like Jon. It’s easier to hit tones from the neck But i wont be as High. So no richie was not the best Singer of those Two. Best guitarist YES But Jon was insane in his Young days

Richie is amazing, and a great guy too. I perhaps erred in my description. This was the very first time that Richie and Nile played together, and the very first time Nile ever played the song, spontaneously creating the solo during this rehearsal. Nile is also great and incredibly talented. I think your comment is extremely harsh under those circumstances. Thank you for weighing in though.

@@goodearssrock6902 get a life you saddo. Richie is totally awesome. He has more emotion and talent in one song than a whole album by jbj. Bon jovi are still playing the same middle of the road shit they played in the 80's. Without Richie's co writing bon jovi have lost the emotion and raw edge that made them. Richie's solo albums with his voice and guitar playing blow all of bj stuff away. So just go back to your rocking chair and grandad cardigans and leave the real music to us

Abner- The “Black dude” has a name: Nile Rodgers. Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame inductee. Multiple Grammy Award winner. This video was the very first time that Richie and Nile played the song together and were feeling out the best way to do that. It was a rehearsal.
