Greetings FBCG, My name is Elijah Mason and I am 19 years old. Currently I am residing in a shelter, The Covenant House, due to egregious circumstances. Previously, I stayed with my parents until a situation occurred with my father and I ending with him aiming a knife towards my face, my second near death experience since birth. By the grace of God not a bone in my body was damaged, but before I lived with my parents, I stayed with my grandmother from age 2 to age 18. The reason for me having to leave her home was because I was not taking care of my business while I was in school and we were having arguments back and forth about my lack of action towards my education while I was in college. I dropped out early in the year of 2017. Most of my life, I have had anxiety issues which caused me to stray away from classes, depending on the class size and space of classroom, for a certain amount of time until I had the courage to actually walk in the room. It also caused me to feel introverted to the point where I stayed to myself, especially now that I have something to be publicly humiliated about physically, which is something I can tell you in person, and it is really a good thing because I feel more compelled to work towards my craft. I have also suffered from lack of concentration, sexual immorality since childhood, which almost led me on a path to hell until God saved me and gave me a vision, anger issues since high school, and gluttony where I have had an addiction to food since childhood, which again by the grace of God, I am still healthy. Although I still need push and guidance towards being effective, my lack of concentration has not improved all the way, but it will. I am writing this letter to inform you about what I have planned for my future and to see if you could be of some guidance into being a business mentor to me, investing in me business, or even knowing somebody that could mentor or invest, but mostly mentor because I know I have the potential to be the most knowledgeable businessman that ever lived. My startup idea includes having a venue franchise with events and other types of affairs centered around entertainment and technology, since entertainment will always be in demand and technology is the future. I am grateful to God that he is on the verge of using me in an immense way for the bible says, "And let us not be weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." I needed this sermon! Thank you! A little about me... l am disabled d ju e to severe osteoarthritis. I had my 1st hip replacement in 2011, then a left foot surgery and am facing spinal surgery, another hip replacement and upcoming knee replacement and right foot surgery. This disabled me so much I couldn't get a job. Equal employer opportunities are not there for many of us who are very capable of doing a good job but are maybe slower. The real problem is we are seen as a future workmans comp case. Bottom line we are seen as a liability. This has forced me to become a care taker. Long story, but I used to do live in care for family members so l had lots of experience and thought if l can virtually senior sit l can pay the rent. The county asked me to apply for IHSS work. They knew about my physical limitations but assured me many seniors just need supervison, meals prepared and light clean up. It was not my pick for work. But it was my only option. However, after being told l would have no problem getting on the registry, someone saw me as a liability and l was denied employment with medical, dental and 401K. I was angry and confronted them. Buy, before I could see tbis, I began to wine and complain, to lower my job performance and look for ways out. Its not been easy and only pays minimum wage. I have felt over worked, under paid and unappreciated. Yesterday my patient broke down and cried. She was afraid she was going to loose me. She calls me her angel of hope. She knows l have up coming surgery and she is worried for me. Financially, I am in the l am on the low side of the poverty levels. To be this much loved and not knowing it really impacted me. Then l get a call from a lady l took care of last year. She wsnts me back. I realized how l ha e positively impacted the lives of 2 women because l care and cared for them. It humbled me. Your sermon was the icing on the cake. Its as unto the Lord, our jobs should be. The other stuff is Gods part. Ours is to be willing to suffer through, giving our very best and see what God can do. I see a opening to create change in a highly disenfranchised and over looked people, our elderly. Government ain't there, families aren't really there, so maybe we have to be here for each other. Please pray about this. It could become huge! Im thinking non profit grant supported huge. Lots of research to do and people to network with. Prayers are appreciated.
