I grew up in Monticello, lived this life and remember, also, Katz's bakery on Broadway, Kaplan's Deli and worked at the Concord and other small hotels as a photographer in the dining room, and at the outdoor pool. Single's weekends were wild as everyone single from the City were there hoping to meet or just have fun. I was rather innocent at 16 years old! My father was town's only obstetrician and gynecologist - he took care the wives of the owners of the Concord as well as the Chasidic women who lived in the Bungalow colonies - up for the summers. I remember the Garlic Funeral Home well. SO many other businesses now gone. I was there in July 2018 for a high school reunion. Monti High is still there but the town is unrecognizable. So much history and I'm proud to have been part of it. Joanne Becker Shubert
