I'm single gay guy living in Sydney too...actually for almost 9yrs. I'm living by myself and loving it. I'm a home body as well and not into the scene anymore. What I enjoy the most is not having the stress/dramas of being in a relationship. I can do what ever I want and go to where I want to go. When I'm lonely I'll just go out and meet some friends if they're available.

It’s much easier in your twenties with lots of friends. I am alone after a 22 year relationship and most of my friends have moved away, it’s much harder, but good you are trying different things.

Relish down time , I do it’s funny I had lots going on in life till 40 yrs have slowly pulled away as friends moved or were not rewarding in any way I have lived alone for 20 years now and I love it , I last shared with a woman that was a 40 year old student that had come to fisty cuffs with her x Sydney flatmates boyfriend wow she was a piece of work and 3 months was all I could bare she told a woman’s refuge that she feared the homosexual home owner ( me ) and they gave her free accomodation , my friend had tried to suicide and I asked if it was ok to have him stay for 3 days as part of his release , she said yes as long as he doesn’t piss on the toilet seat , well I was so disgusted in her takes a bit to remind some of their rudeness , 2 months later she asked if her mother could come and stay ( my moment had come my reply “ sure as long as she doesn’t piss on the toilet seat or floor “ her jaw on the floor as I skipped away , relish your sanity don’t share too many diabolicals , I love the peace you bring , take care

im gay and kinda lonely. living in southern europe. i think the solution is just to not give up and look for the unique way for each of us to live. which can take a bit time and introspection. i feel in professional life ive progressed a lot the past couple years to build more meaningful relations. still lacking in the close (non internet based) friendships tho

I'm single and 55. I know it's not a contest, we all have our own unique reasons why we are where we are and for me it's unresolved childhood trauma that has led to deep trust and intimacy issues. That said, having been single and living alone for decades, I am resolved to single living. Even though I do get lonely from time to time, I have come to really appreciate my 'answer to no one' lifestyle.

Its interesting seeing how different people view loneliness. For some, its not having anyone to talk to, for others, its not having friends, family that's there for them, or a mixture. For me, its not having a partner - that's how I feel lonely and it feels uncomfortable to admit that to people even to a Psychologist. As a single gay guy in Sydney too, its very common to be lonely amongst us gays. You can't help but feel unlovable and worthless even if you have so much to give. Just a thought.
@joeyroey4 ай бұрын
@@nafslee I totally understand that emotion, been there and felt that. I remember a quote someone said (can’t remember who) , “take the love you want to receive from someone else and give it to yourself”. It’s better said than done, but once you start doing those little things, the loneliness will slowly become bearable.

The production value of your videos is always outstanding. You've got some good strategies for dealing with loneliness... Embracing the time to yourself is a great one. Watching a sunset, reading a book, listening to your favorite cd or record...all great. Don't just immediately turn on the TV or start scrolling through social media. Be in the moment. Forcing yourself to schedule social things is another great one. It's easy to get in a rut when you live alone. Putting up with people's BS gets old...especially in the gay scene. It's hard, if not impossible, to just find solid guys without a bunch of baggage or drama. And if you do, then everyone starts in with trying to sleep with each other. Some people do these things as a holding strategy while waiting for a man. That's wrong too. You shouldn't just be biding time. This is your life. You can live it fully whether or not a man is in the bed next to you. You may never find that perfect guy. Do you want to live half a life waiting? You're doing great. It looks like you've really cultivated a nice life for yourself.
