Disclaimer! This is NOT a faithful note-to-note rendition of the solo but it is the closest I could humanly get to. This video has been requested enough that it simply had to be done. I promised that I would get this done before the end of the year. Unfortunately, it boiled down to recording it today right before I leave for a vacation and with seriously limited time. So it is rough but I hope it helps you make it your own. Most of the crazy runs are just a matter of sticking heavily to the G dorian scale and "landing on your feet" like Guthrie Govan would say. Essentially, just be sure to land those chord tones on the strong down beats. If you have any questions, please let me know by commenting below. This is not an easy solo to transcribe or play accurately! I wish it was! Most of my playing is part education and intuition guided. Honestly slowing it down really tripped my head quite a bit but I did the best I could. Remember that you can use KZbin's feature to slow down my playing, if you need it to be even slower. Best wishes and a happy New Year to all! Thanks for your support! NOTE: My middle finger's nail went through some trauma today! I lost about half of the tip trying to open a laptop's battery cover! Yes, it still hurts!

@@Davidian_ At this point I am not 100% sure. It seems more like a consequence of a finger injury while changing brake rotors. I got a metal splinter that got badly infected, and things went slowly downhill from there. My middle finger started getting stuck months after that event. I didn't make much of it, but it got progressively worse over the span of a year. The more I played the guitar the worse the inflammation got. After a while I couldn't flex it at all. I am under a bit of relief at the moment with a steroid shot, but I am afraid the problem may not be fully addressed yet.

@@Progmium titled it "mera guitar for progmium"! Has Lace Alumitone and Deathbucker pickups in it! They sound mediocre on my fender prosonic amp, and FEROCIOUS on my Hughes and Kettner Triamp Mark3. I guess that's the difference between a $700 amp and a $4000 one lol!

@@Progmium and "mera guitar with lace pickups tone" sound clip video! Just a quick a pentatonic scale into a jazz chord so you can hear it! Super MEAN sounding! Really rich and full. That guitar and those pickups are running through a line 6 Helix floor (with a marshall Jubilee sound imprint) and then into my Hughes & Kettner triamp mark3.

¿How did you get that speed?
@Progmium
@Progmium 4 жыл бұрын
Oscar Mata Great question! I don’t know but perhaps from trying to emulate fast players for the last 20+ years. One thing that works for me is to run fast passages in short bursts of speed and increment the length of the bursts as you get the material programmed into muscle memory. A lot of patience can come in handy as well. This stuff sure doesn’t happen overnight.

Very kind! Thanks! Can't remember at this point but I recall maybe a week or two to attempt the first cover. But the technique to be able to play this I am not so sure. Been playing for 25 years now (23 at the time). Lot of John Petrucci, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Guthrie Govan surely helped build this kind of stamina over the years.

Perseverance is a bitch but it pays off. You can certainly do it. I started right at zero like everyone else. The key is to learn not to tense up while playing. That comes from relentless repetition at slow speeds and working your way up with a metronome. A light touch on the fretting hand can go a long way, so it is important to set a low string action.
