This is my favorite Living Colour song. Stain was on constant rotation in my car cassette deck. I was also listening to and watching various videos (live performances) of 'Nothingness' last week...and the week before that. There are a few songs out there that actually make me emotional to the point of tearing up. This is one of them. From the bassline to the synth to the lyrics and everything in between. I love this song. Glad you do, too.

When I first started playing guitar, I was listening to all the usual guitarists (Vai,Satch,Van Halen etc) and buying every guitar magazine to learn about them. Thank god I did. Because one of those magazines came with a plastic page that could be played as a record. It was Cult of Personality I bought everything I could of theirs. They were so important and have never had the respect they deserve. Nothingness was a beautiful song, as was the album . My only gripe (if its anything) was they had to "soften" their singles dance loops in the 90s (listen to love rears single version/album version )which detracted from their roots as an avant garde rock band. These guys are absolute legends and thank you for playing them 🤘🏻🤘🏻👍🏻
