OBSIDIAN is a procedural level generator for a variety of id tech games. ‪@craneoexmortis4646‬ created an addon, Obsidian 64: The Obligation, which lets OBSIDIAN generate Doom 1 and 2 levels with textures based on the Doom 64 graphics. To complete the Doom 64 experience, a Doom 64 inspired gameplay mod is required where ‪@legowegomaster‬'s Unseen Evil has come in. Unseen Evil is particularly nice in that, not only does it replace the sprites to their Doom 64 versions, it also adds Doom 64 style colored lighting to levels. Unseen Evil does a lot more than that but I had to mod some of it out as not to interfere with Obsidian 64. I have also used my Doom 64 music replacer for Doom 1 and Doom 2 from the Doom 64 Stereo Project. And finally I have used HSVDither for a slight color saturation boost.

Love all these maps! Out of interest, what’s the best way to play Doom 64 on GZDOOM, as in as close as possible to the 2020 remaster? Thanks.

Doom 64 CE Lite with its "vanilla" preset. :) Nothing will beat it until GZDoom starts supporting the Doom 64 format.

@@AlDavisMusic No one is working on it as far as I know. Graf of GZDoom once made the objection that the Doom 64 source code doesn't have a GPL license so he doesnt want to support it. But you dont really need to use the Doom 64 source code to load in its map format. GZDoom doesnt even move like Doom 2 anyway, so it doesnt need to use anything from Doom 64's source really.

Love these maps but I've noticed there's a lack of enemy variety (mostly hit scanners and imps). Is there a reason for that?

At first they start out with basic enemies then they ramp up to a bigger variety. Like classic Doom. I am deeper into it now and I have revenants, cacos, lost soils, and hell knights.
