1985... Walked for more than one hour from home to one of the few places in Mexico City where you could get heavy metal records,shirts,and magazines. I got if I remember right a Mercyful Fate record. With the extra cash that I had left in order to catch the bus back home I bought instead an issue of the good ol' Metal Hammer magazine (Whitesnake on the cover) because inside there was this giant,colorful,incredible Helloween poster. I just needed to have it,even when that meant walking back home for another hour. Next to that Helloween poster I found to my surprise this other poster,a Living Death poster. I was hooked..Heavy Metal magic! I still have both posters today....

Heavy speed thrash metal, no Punk rock
@crooked-halo11 күн бұрын
@@lazaroojeda1054 Living Death's musical direction is absolutely influenced by punk rock and has some punk sound in it. Most thrash bands are. Hell, Slayer made an entire album of punk rock covers as a tribute and thanks to punk rock influencing thrash metal.
@lazaroojeda10549 күн бұрын
@@crooked-halo It wasn't like that with the rest of the thrash metal and speed bands... they may have similar sounds, but in some countries they didn't share the same ideology 100%. Thrash and speed metal in their origins were more influenced by heavy metal itself in their themes and way of making music, and heavy metal had already surpassed and encompassed everything that punk rock represented since its beginnings. But I do recognize that in the United States, thrash was influenced by hardcore and punk, apart from heavy metal.
@lazaroojeda10549 күн бұрын
In my opinion, punk owes more to metal than thrash to punk, since heavy metal has had it all before, also considering the proto-heavy bands of the early 60s."

Helloween play power and kreator play thrash- Living Death is pretty much pure Speed Metal
@FirstLast-ol9cs8 жыл бұрын
Blutroth, there is no real difference between speed and thrash and Living have too many slower tempo songs to be speed (Rulers Must Come is prime). Maiden is power metal and Halloween is called power metal but really is speed/thrash metal (Walls of Jericho album). We could debate our opinions all day with no success so let's just say Living Death is a great yet underrated band who sound nothing like the Scorpions.
