Many years ago on Christmas, the Cincinnati Post presented a front page free of the bad news of all the conflict in the world. Usually all news, bad as well as good, is grist for a newspaper’s mill, but that day of days they decided to put all the murders & robberies, all the violence and the like, on the back pages. Why? Because God’s peace at Christmas is unique. It is a time to emphasize the good news about Jesus. It is an occasion for putting conflicts aside. It is the most wonderful time of the year. Luke 2:8-14 has three truths to celebrate that explain the uniqueness of God’s peace at Christmas.
