That old saying that you can't buy good taste. The wallpaper/furniture is just ghastly. I prefer my modest $750,000 home in Christchurch, New Zealand. 4 Bedrooms + Office + 2.5 Bathrooms. A nice Garden that I can grow Fruit and Vegetables in, a well-endowed kitchen, and it's a standalone home, no worrying about sharing your apartment in a building with other apartment owners/renters.

It's almost frightening... It's so far away from anything that look like nature and human size environment ! I could never call such a place my "home" : no garden, no terrasse or balcony to get out in the open air to enjoy a barbecue in the sun, no fireplace, no feeling of security (earthquakes, airplanes, lol) and no feeling of intimacy. With that price, I'd buy my whole village in the Swiss Alps 😄 But I admit the landscape over NYC is amazing.

Trust me… if you live in a big city especially one that has become a hell hole you’d want to be insulated. Especially if you had to live there and had no choice due to family/work etc… down on those streets it is amazing and cities have a ton to offer but things have gotten out of control over the past handful of years. So if someone can afford to buy a steel and glass cocoon 1000 feet up in the sky, they will do it.

Agreed. My feelings exactly. There are plenty of apartments in NYC that have terraces. New York is built on solid granite so there are no earthquakes but this apartment is completely lacking in warmth. I have the feeling that it has never been lived in or that whoever lived in it purchased all the furnishings in one day just to get it over with. Nothing was accumulated over time to reflect aquired tastes and preferences. I'd prefer an apartment in the Tudor City section on the East river. It's where people of creative substance often live... but they wouldn't have those views.

The Great Room would be for entertaining, and I would fill it with antique furniture. One last thing - OMG there should be carpet in the bedrooms. Who want to walk on cold wooden floors? As just one example, all the shelves in the living room being completely covered is a terrible idea. Practically, you can't see where your stuff is--good luck opening each shelf trying to remember where something is. Stylistically, shelving is one of the most fun ways to show your unique, collected nick-knacks, books, etc. It's one of the primary ways to show your history and personality in your home. This home has zero personality. It's basically a fancy hospital with a $45m view.

There’s no character or heart to this … just a very expensive view

It'd be really interesting to see the breakdown of this 45mil asking price - what exactly makes it this number?
@annonymously3312 жыл бұрын
This apartment sold for 48million in 2014, then 28million in 2020. The resale values on this building are not very good for the initial buyers due to competition from other buildings on “billionaires row”. honestly I believe the owners asking price is just aspirational

I like the 33,000,000 Penthouse on the upper east side better. Check out the tour of that sky property. Lots of outdoor spaces too. It's so nice that I didn't even finish watching this tour. Interesting series this Guy does.

I realize this is an odd question, but can you tell us how sturdy those windows are? I can't help but imagine a friend having a couple of drinks, stumbling into one and .... it's a long way down, lol

As a builder myself, I just can’t tell you this place is put together cheap. The view is spectacular, but look at that washroom not even a steam shower just a regular old shower box.

I would want the windows to be UV tinted

I would definitely see that other penthouse tour. Black countertops are fabulous. Open concept has never been my favorite.

It's not what I'm searching for. It does not even have a balcony.

This is one of the blander ones that Erik toured. The decors, use of space, and materials are just so by the book and lack any flair. The Penthouse is not bad, but neither is it very good.

with its spectacular view and the beauty on the owner's wing, yes, this apartment is worth $45M! Please do a tour of that $250M penthouse! :)

Must be amazing….then a storm comes through and the building starts swaying and your hot tub and badet water and champagne start splashing all over the place!

No the buildings are built with that in mind. Engineers think ahead man.

I think it's beautiful. People who say it's not a cozy 'home' are correct, but they don't seem to realize that those who can afford this apartment and buy it probably have another home somewhere else that has a more homey feel

Beautiful, but it would be perfect if the couches weren't bland looking and had less white on the inside.
