6:55 I work in construction...to answer your question, the flooring of your terrace is probably on a pedestal type system. The rainwater (and shower water) filters through underneath the flooring to a rainwaterpipe that is probably within the internal facade and taken down the building. Rain water pipes are now hidden well within buildings and out of sight.

Why even bother with London with those rent prices? You can get a mortgage for a 4 bedroom house in a Rural Town in the North or Midlands for that less than that £1k you spend a month for a average place, plus does that include your room mate so essentially landlord is getting £2k a month, £24k a year for a place what would cost £80k tops in some Rural Northern area, these days even out of London Mortgage is cheaper than Rent which is funny since it's hard to get a mortgage even though everyone pays more in rent Not like you need to be in London 🤣 Renting is a scam so if I had the money I would get like a Park Home with Low or no Park fees
