Two years ago I found a kitten with umbilical cord still attached on side of busy highway. I bottle fed her every 3 hours and kept her warm. Her name is Mayday. So enjoy your videos and love Camper! One cold WI winter, a sparrow hit our front window and got knocked out. I held him in a warm towel and cared for him inside for a day until strong enough to fly free. I still get teased about it... "Mother Nature Nurture Nature", lover of all creatures great and small, etc.

Your compassion is exemplary. Your effort to find the perfect sunset observation point reminds me of what I did at Itasca State Park in northern Minnesota back in late August 2011. The amateur astronomers in the campground said the ISS would pass directly over us at 9:45 PM, Thursday, August 25, 2011. I established my observation point by the lake a few minutes early and waited. Nothing at first, but then I looked a bit north and there it was. It was very large and very high. That was a good moment. I hope you can visit Itasca State Park on your way west.

Watching you save the mouse's life was beautiful. You have such a kind and compassionate soul, Nikki. I love the matching loungewear - how fun to be able to match with your dog! A word of warning, although you probably know this already. Be very careful when you and Camper are near poison oak or ivy. The plant oils can rub off onto Camper's hair and then be transferred to you when you touch him. My family found out about this the hard way years ago. Your vlogs are awesome and your morals are admirable, but you do realize that mice rats and other rodents destroy property right? I have had to spend a lot of money repairing the damage in both my home and vehicle. I would help a dog, cat, bird, even a lizard. But not a rodent.

I had one turn up right in front of my garage door a couple of months ago! I had nothing to put him in but a cardboard box. I gave him some of my cats food and some water. I had to leave for a few hours but I checked in on him or her as soon as I got home. He was moving around, had eaten some of the cat food, drank some water and even pooped a few times. I got him some wood chips and a drip water bottle. The next day I went to check on her and she was gone. I was pretty happy she was finally feeling well enough to chew threw the box and make its escape! But I was wrong. He had buried himself in the wood chips and died. I felt terrible but took some comfort in knowing that I at least made it's last few days a little more comfortable, warm and fed. So many little animals and birds would have eaten it alive if I left it in front of my garage door.

Ok seriously? Is this really the world we live in now? I have a stereotype I use. Not trying to sound harsh but I use the Toyota Prius, with a bicycle rack and Obama sticker on back as the example. You’re even from the east coast. Rehabilitating a rodent just to release it into your yard so it can make its way back inside to leave mouse shit in your silverware drawer is a perfect example as to how counterproductive democrats are. That’s completely crazy in rural (reality)America you stomp that mouse with your foot before you throw it out in the yard. Snakes gotta eat too.

I don't see where you get the political assumptions from saving a mouse. I am conservative and saved baby bunnies (also rodents and also potentially destructive) and I don't see a problem with that. Humans destroy far more lives than a tiny rodent, especially in the past 2 years, and yet we save even the most vile of them if they are injured in an accident. Just for some perspective. We aren't here to play God. Wild snakes prefer live prey, anyway, since you brought that up.
