That's lovely, Imogen is lovely you must be very proud of both your girls. My daughter got married last month and that sort of signifies the end of her being my little girl, but now she is my best friend.

Too much emphasis is put on children having everything perfect in their homes, so long as they are safe with loving parents it doesn’t matter that the home is a building site for however long it takes. Our daughter really didn’t like our home in France because of the dirt floors and lack of mod cons but now she loves it and it’s still evolving, she was a young teenager when we first bought it but now she is in her mid twenties she really appreciates the peace and simplicity of the house so much so she is going to complete her masters dissertation over there. Your daughters are absolutely lovely and a credit to you and your husband you can see they come from a happy home.

My children could totally relate to Immies feeling about renovating. Emma had diarrhoea one night and we were living in a shed and the long drop was 100 meters from the shed - it was pouring with rain she was 9 - so so sad she slipped in the mud trying to run to the toilet and returned covered in mud , soaked and we had no shower or running hot water then. She made the trip several times that cold dark wind wet night too. Omg I so felt for her So we kind of can really relate 🫣 Both children swore never to renovate or build EVER !

The fish jug(I know it as a gurgle jug)is wonderful.I had a dark green one and regret letting it go in some ways.I prefer your white one..I'd like a giant shell platter,not a clam more like the Shell sign shape.

I had a beautiful old petrol blue glug jug and I sold it. I really regret it now too. I know what I'll be buying Immie for Christmas 😉

Yes of course but it's about the happy memories that we've made in the house, and there have been many. That is oneof the reasons why I try to keep it homely 😊
