KSR breaks it down. The need to develop a sustainable world based on scientific concepts, as well as our innate human nature, vs the risk of destroying everything on the altar of profit. Though he has not been to Mars, he did make it seem real to me. Also sparked an interest in hiking for me at the same time.

Good interview and much wisdom. With that being said, the author has a very superficial understanding of capitalism, and, dare I say, a misunderstanding.

+MrFreemymind He was spot on about Capitalism. Even today, roughly 58 percent of all aquired wealth in America goes straight to the top. You can't deny that people at the top have never been richer, and many more of us are much poorer. It is indeed a pyramid when such a small percentage, about 10 percent, own far more of the wealth than the 90 percent combined. If this isn't a pyramid, I don't know what the hell is. Capitalism, might I add, is the very reason why the space program stopped recieving federal funding after the threat of the space race was over. It produced no capital or economical benefit, thus, it was thrown to the side.

I think it is you who have a superficial understanding, and dare I say, misunderstanding, of capitalism
