Are you looking for something different while traveling? Try a homestay! In this video, we give you the full tour of the traditional Torajan home that we stayed in for five days. We stayed with this multi-generational family, enjoying our time connecting with the owners, their children, their grandmother, and all the neighbors. We slept in the traditional home (known as a Tongkonan or Rumah Adat) by ourselves, shared a bathroom with our host family, and enjoyed our meals outside in the open air. Our children had friends to play with and many farm animals to visit. Our 3-year-old enjoyed his time with Grandma. We enjoyed our slow mornings sipping coffee which was grown and roasted right at the homestay. We can’t recommend this homestay enough! It was perfect for our family.
