Needed to hear this today. It’s so very dark in my life and I feel like jumping off the train. I’m trusting the engineer but it is so hard - just being real. Lonely (and alone) and frightened for my marriage and my future. I’m clinging on to the verse from Jeremiah 11 that God has a good plan for my future and to bring me hope. I need that hope. Thank you for this encouragement. Waiting for the sun to come out.

I am holding you in my prayers. Hold tight to that ticket because God does not know God is doing and God has this amazing way of leading us through the dark tunnel. The tunnel might seem like a long one at times, but never doubt God's love for you nor God's grace. Prayers ascending for the sun to shine brightly upon you. Blessings!

Thank you, Pastor Donna! Seems that your words in this message are exactly what so many of us needed to hear right now! I live in Western North Carolina, and while my community is fine, the devastation I see every single day is beyond awful! I have been relying heavily on scripture to pull me through during those moments of fear, despair and anxiety. I remind myself daily that God has plans for my life - I am one of His children AND - He gave His life for me so that I could live life abundantly. These reminders, along with much prayer have helped me weather the storms during this really tough time in my life!❤ Thanks again for your thoughtful and kind words today!

I am relieved to hear you are and your community were unscathed by the storm. But yes, the destruction all around is so mind boggling. Yet we have to remain strong and keep our eyes on Christ and not look at the raging waves around us, but look towards the goodness, the hope and the promise that with Christ, all things are possible...even rebuilding lives that have been shattered. Blessings to you!

Hi Pastor. So good to listen to you. I recently watched Ten Boom after reading the book. I, too, feel and worry about the violence, the nasty rhetoric and thise who have lost everything. I pray so much to ask God for healing of the world and personally, the United States. I'm frightened and hope this horrible rhetoric doesn't win and hope and love wins. God bless the hurricane victims and all who are in pain.

What a beautiful message. I am going to a dark tunnel in my life with a lot of challenges from my mother. She is extremely mentally ill and just tried to take her own life by wrapping a quarter round her neck. She was not a good mother and looking back, she’s been mentally ill her whole life. The depression and the anxiety that I struggle with sounds just like what you’re talking about. You spoke right to my heart. Thank you. God bless.

But never forget that you don't carry the pain and sadness (whatever the emotion is) alone. Jesus is always inviting us to let go of our burdens, handing them over to him. For he knows how to handle them. Praying for you both. Blessings!

However, I do know that God has a plan for my future, and he will guide me through the ups and downs of life. Thanks Donna, you always give us encouragement through every storm! I loved all of Corrie ten Booms books. Her story is one that should never die! I had refugees at my house here in NC from the Western part of the state. They’ve been able to go home now but things are still not good even where they are. Our hearts are broken for all those who live there. No one here in the Winston-Salem area is unaffected by this tragedy. We either have friends or relatives who are in this mess. My favorite places in the mountains are either damaged or destroyed. And it’s not just us, it’s Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia! It’s so very hard to wrap our minds around it all and yet it’s still not over for Florida as Milton is raging toward it again. My hope is in the Lord no matter what and I will keep believing in his goodness. The Bible tells us that we will always face trials and heartache but he cares for us and gets us through. God bless you and keep remembering that you are making a difference to those who follow this Vlog.

Hello Pastor Donna, for the people who tell you that you’re lucky to live in Vermont. I would say to them Vermont has had as bad as the Carolina’s. I remember walking over the bridge from Dartmouth College where the Connecticut River was even with the bridge. Most people in this country haven’t even heard about Hawaii but it still looks the same as when they had all those fires. I would love to walk in the woods with my ruck sack on, that is something I would thoroughly enjoy. My knee does not feel too bad but I don’t have any balance. I stood up and I feel to the floor…ugh! I don’t know if you have heard of the Vermont Country Store, but I was looking through it the other day and they have dresses like you wear in your videos. The store is filled with all kinds of wonderful products. I’m glad Fritz was in the video. We have a stuffed animal that looks like him. The stuffy had another name but I have changed it to Fritz. I’ve jib-jab enough so I will end it here. Hugs to you and of course Fritz 🤗 Take care and God Bless!

Always so great to get a note from you. Yes, Vermont has had its share of floods as well. Two weeks ago I spent the day visiting many churches to see how they are helping their communities rebuild from floods that happened two summers ago. Still so many houses destroyed. It is just so unfathomable. And my heart goes out to you with your struggles with your knee. I have been having something weird go on with mine from all the running have done these past four years. Then two weeks ago, I took a hard fall on the slate steps. ouch. Then the other day Fritz decided to take off after one of the chickens. He was on his leash and he dragged me down. Sure enough, I fell right down on my knee. It has been swollen for a week now. Not fun. And so I invite you enjoy being in the woods and walking with me virtually!! And speaking of Fritz...it's his birthday tomorrow. He turns 2 on Oct. 2. :) Blessings to you!!

This reminds me of a book that i a reading. The Well-Gardened Mind The Restorative Power of Nature by Sue Stuart-Smith. There truly is healing power in nature in all of Gods creation. I like your analogy of the train that goes through the dark tunnel and how we don't give it a second thought that there will be light at the end of the tunnel. Why then do we not trust God in that way ? Is it because we don't always see him at work in our lives.
@oldstonewellfarm13 күн бұрын
Oh my gosh. I just ordered that book! What a God moment. I can't wait to read it. Trust is not an easy thing to hold on to. I think in addition to the fact that often times we are blind to God working in our lives, is that we often want God to help or answer us according to our timing. God's timing often keeps us waiting and I think in the waiting is where our faith can waver. Blessings!

So wonderful to hear from you. Yes, I am a pastor. I spent most of my career as an editor/reporter living in New York City, reporting on high end jewelry and fashion. Felt the call to use my writing for things other than material goods. I left my career and entered seminary in my late 30s. My first church job was in rural Upstate New York just on the border of Vermont...where I met my husband and found this old home. Old houses are a lot of work...and money...sigh. My house is far from perfect and quite rustic. We are in need of new windows but I recently had sticker shock at what they would cost. Ugh. But your reminder was something I needed to hear...our home is with Jesus. So very true. Your note was a blessing!!
