It’s uncanny how much you look like my brother Mikey…he died when I was 12…actually, his first and middle names were Michael Alden…I loved him so much and still do…you even have a lot of his mannerisms…it’s comforting to watch and listen to you…at the time I kept telling everybody that it was a mistake and it just couldn’t be him in the casket but was told I was wrong…for years I thought I must be right and that he would come back but that didn’t happen…guess that’s simply how a 12 year old little sister handled it…watching and listening to you, I can sometimes kinda pretend I wasn’t wrong…thank you for being you

Great video, I watch everyone and honestly this video interview has been the most informative. What I mean is Sarah was open and showed her struggles before her success and that is something we all need to hear. Often we want to move because of fantasy and unrealistic intentions, she made it clear that struggles are real, hard work on ones self and overcoming doubt, when in a rough patch happens, it is likely, and what you do to move past is key, now we see her in her most productive phase of work life balance and her being open was reality and good to see. I move watching both your channels and the truthful honest approach helps me realize we are on the right path doing the background stuff to move sucessfully, we are not running away we are retiring and well rest relaxation and a change of pace is what we desire, we can always come back if we(my spouse and I) feel the need.

GM Michael and Sarah. Good to see you both together. I loved the statement that you both are here to NOT CONVINCE us to move here but to see if It is a right move for us. Michael and Sarah I have been watching for about 2 1/2 years . We started watching you both before we made our permanent move here. Learned a lot from you both. We love our lives here for these almost 2 years. We still had to learn the hard way on some things in the beginning but that's life. We also saved ourselves from other things because we watched and listened to advice. I also agree LOCATION LOCATION. I THINK we all learn on that one after experiencing the opposite of what we think we wanted 😅😅😅( We all have a story lol ) Blessings to you both ❤🙏 PS I too worked with Adults that suffer from Mental illnesses!! Retired now but would love to still help people. We Love living on the mountain in Heredia Province. We are not downtown, we live where the Coffee grows. We needed cooler Temps that don't require AC

8:40 That was me! I was absolutely agog at the terrain, and the huge leaves, and the bird sounds I'd never heard before. I came from Virginia, too, in the mountains west of Roanoke, Central Appalachia. I wasn't native to that area, had moved there in my early thirties and went through a similar thing. I took pictures of burdock growing on the roadsides, for crying out loud. Well... that times ten when I landed in Costa Rica. I knew in my gut and in my heart that I was never going to leave. If Michel scatters my ashes down by the river (hopefully not for at least another half century!) I'll be just fine with that. This is home now. But I remember well the feeling I got when seeing this country for the first time. I hope I never forget that. And 19:48, Mike I could not agree with you more about the education a child would get here. Better in every area of life. Period, full stop.

Michael, this is one of your better interviews and I enjoyed it. Some unrequested advice…let your guests finish expressing their thoughts. You never want to end up speaking at the same time as the guest. It took me a long time to stop doing that myself as someone w/ adhd and who interviews ppl and moderates meetings in high stress professional settings. What I find that helps is swallowing air when the other guest is talking and slowing down the conversation so I don’t forget the point or question I want to make or ask.
@TravelCostaRicaNOW
@TravelCostaRicaNOW Жыл бұрын
YEs, I know you are right. I get caught up in the conversation and forget it's being recorded. I also have issues with forgetting what I want to say or ask after they are finished and this is what happens. Working on it and I really appreciate the tip. I will definitely try it out, so thanx for that and I also appreciate the way you gave me the feedback,,,, it came out of helpful, caring place rather than trying to say how sucky I was.

@@TravelCostaRicaNOW Your interviews are definitely not sucky. On the contrary, it’s a strength for the channel.
