The only events I would do in Ft. Worth is to see the cattle drive and see where Urban Cowboy was filmed.

The cattle drive is fun and so is Billy Bob's but I believe Urban Cowboy was filmed at Gilley's in Pasadena, TX near Houston. But Billy Bob's is bigger!

No, I will be just a tourist. I am thinking about staying in Grapevine. Since I can take the hotel shuttle to DFW and catch the DART to Dallas.

Yes, Grapevine is a great place to stay especially right off main street. It had a lot of things to do there and is close to the airport too. Enjoy your trip but don't forget about Fort Worth! Let me know if I can help you at all with any real estate questions or needs.
