It’s always great watching you. One of the original Ghanaian KZbinrs/vloggers. You are always honest and positive even if your experience is negative. Immigration definitely gave you the wrong information but I would have done the same as you. You went to the source and that’s what they told you so you acted based on that.

Hey Venessa - nice video. FYI you also need to apply for dual citizenship to be a full citizen of Ghana (the passport allows you to travel without the need for a visa). Keep up the great work 🇬🇭 🇬🇭

@tvs99784 жыл бұрын
Yeah it should be that way but I'm thinking the passport they issued wasn't the normal one because a regular Ghanaian passport is valid for 10 years not 4 years
@user-gc5dx8fj5u4 жыл бұрын
Utterly ludicrous for those officials to suggest her passport doesn't give her a right of abode!! I'm not entirely sure how some of these officials in Ghana reason or think. For crying out loud, what is the purpose of a passport? It signifies and confirms the holder's nationality right? And so if a passport signifies and confirms my citizenship or nationality, how the heck does it not give me a right of abode in that country? How can one be a citizen of a country and yet not be entitled to reside in that country? How, how, how???? It is utterly absurd and frankly stupid, but then again I'm not too surprised. Some of the warped logic and thinking you can be confronted with in Ghana will often leave you speechless.

Don't they have professional construction companies in Ghana that can handle all the day to day tasks, safety concerns, foundation, *soil stability,* water flow, etc details for you? So you can know that your home was built soundly and isn't going collapse, catch fire, flood, sink into a hole, slide down the hill, electrocute you, etc? I wouldn't want to be in charge of all that managing a whole team of complete strangers that I have no history with. Am I not hearing this right?

I understood that she's a Ghanaian originally from the UK. So there was a distinction being made. And generalising but, Ghanaians themselves ask other foreign born Ghanaians, where they're from.

By Ghanaian law, if ONEOF of your parents or grandparents is Ghanaian, you can legally claim GHANAIAN citizenship. So she's basically been fleeced. She should get the new biometric ECOWAS passport. All she needs is her birth certificate and fill the form
