Currently living in Guatemala for almost 3 years, love it, great weather, food, affordable, even I feel more secure here than other countries. Looking forward for your insights.

Is Guatemala more secure than Costa Rica, Mexico, and Belize?
@MoshehYinon26 Жыл бұрын
@@expat8460 More secure than these countries, even better than the States. I never been in Costa Rica, so I can't comment on it. As long you don't expose yourself in remotely areas, you'll be fine. Each country has safe and risky areas, use your common sense. I never have any issues traveling within the tourist areas.

@@MoshehYinon26 ok thanks I speak spanish so it should be a bit easier. My choices are between Belize and Guatemala.
@MoshehYinon26 Жыл бұрын
@@expat8460 definitely you should visit Belize, should you travel as a tourist, but for long term living, I would recommend Guatemala, especially "Antigua city" very tourist ad safe area or lake Atitlan where I currently live and I have the opportunity of buying a property/business.

@@MoshehYinon26 Yeah I some research and Belize is super expensive compare to the region there for living. I was looking into Guatemala city as I want to be close to malls and such dont know if Antigua offers that. Kind of want to have modern amenities so dont know if the whole country has it.

Hi 'Bonded Team; We look forward to welcoming you back home! I obviously don't know your story but if you're interested, I would love to know why you left Guate and why you want to return... Might make an interesting new video too. Please email me - see the 'About' page for the email address - if you'd like to share your story.

I think people can get jobs a the US embassy too. Can they? I knew college students from San Carlos University who got jobs at the embassy. They run on the US schedule, they dont work on thanksgiving a so on.

Greetings Scott. I came across your videos and have many questions that will probably be answered by the videos. I'm interested in the issues of safety, health insurance, medical care relevant even to snowbirds from the USA and Canada. A main interest is about political and social instability compared to Costa Rica, Mexico or the Dominican Republic.
@livinginguatemala Жыл бұрын
Hi Dovy, I can't speak for Mexico and Dominican Republic but I did live in Costa Rica for 20 years before moving to Guatemala and MUCH prefer Guatemala.
@dovygoodguy1296 Жыл бұрын
@@livinginguatemala Yes, I saw that on your video. When it comes to infrastructure (, electricity, water, etc), medical services, insurance, etc. in Guatemala City and Antigua do you have videos discussing all that? I noted you live without a car. If we snowbird from Canada somewhere we also wouldn't drive and would want to have access to stores etc. I am Jewish and I notice there are Jewish amenities in at least Guatemala City. I will be interested in your videos for sure to start

@@livinginguatemala Unfortunately not. But since we will be living in western Canada we cannot foresee spending the whole winter there at least to start. I know Spanish pretty well and we both know French.

Knowing absolutely nothing about you - except that you clearly don't like verbs 🙂- it would be foolish of me to recommend any location to you. Most expats live in Guatemala city, or in Antigua andf there are also quite a few in Xela (Quetzaltenango). My advice would be to come visit and spend time in many different locations and see for yourself.
