Orlando is one of the most diverse cities in the US, great jobs opportunities in many diverse fields. Orlando have 2 rail system, Sunrail, and soon to be brightline high speed rail connecting with Miami. Orlando international Airport is the largest and busiest in florida and the 9 busiest in the US. 75 million people visit this city every year. UCF is the largest college(enrollment) in the country and will soon join the big 12 conference in 2023. Bottom line you can't compare Orlando to Jacksonville period!!!! Jacksonville is a big town, Orlando is a big city, there's a big diferent between the two.

One thing that I did not hear about Jacksonville were jobs as Jacksonville has plenty of work in the financial services and investments industry along with work in the health care and health insurance industries and work in the logistics and dod contractor industries. Jacksonville is home to the third largest naval port system as well as a large naval hospital. Jacksonville also has a robust higher education system. Jacksonville is now home to many fortune 500 regional corporate offices such as Citi, Fidelity, TIAA, Vistar, Deutche Bank, Meryl Lynch, BOA, Availity, Florida Blue, CSX, Jax Port, Mayo Clinic, Johnson and Johnson as well as many other smaller growing firms.

Thanks for your take on this subject of jobs. A ton of opportunities in the river city. Do you see this trend continuing with more jobs coming to Jax?

I have noticed that self-employment businesses have a higher level of staying in honest business longer in Jacksonville than in Orlando. Income is not as large in Jacksonville, but expenses are not as high as in Orlando.

Orlando is not just populated by Spanish speaking people the city is pretty equally divided in population between Black, white, Latin/Hispanic. Also Orlando has much more to offer than the parks there are a lot of museums parks theatre etc here. I’ve lived in both cities and I definitely prefer Orlando it’s got more for my kids to do outside of Disney. Jacksonville is definitely a big country town. I do like having a beach it’s just in Jacksonville driving an hour to get to orange park or 30 mins to the beach is brutal. I’d suggest anyone who is looking at either city to visit each and really research activities you like to do and see how often those things happen in each city. For me Jacksonville just wasn’t taking urban development seriously and was just becoming a sprawling nightmare. Nothing what do ever to do downtown public playgrounds for kids were sub par. But it being a not so busy city is appealing and I believe the home prices are still a little under Orlando’s

Jacksonville is a calm big city thats mainly filled with houses theres only 4 malls (town center) avenues (good side of town) regency n orange park which okay Jacksonville makes u feel like its still georgia/carolinas Now orlando is all about fun and games and if you got money youll be fine Orlando feels more of florida vibes that you look for Orlando is hometown to spanish speaking countries so your surroundings will be mostly spanish people puerto ricans colombians

I’m having a hard time between Jax and Orlando due to the high crime in Jax and the needle in a hay stack safe spot. I know it’s cheaper their but good Lord safety is important.

As someone who grew up in Jacksonville but moved to Orlando right after high school to attend UCF, I decided to settle in Orlando after graduating from college. The reason is Orlando has a lot more to offers with entertainment, cultures, cuisines and quality of life. I do go back to Jacksonville from time to time to visit the beaches and some of my old hangout places from back in high school but at the end of the day, I am just glad to be living in Orlando instead. I am no saying that Jacksonville is a bad place at all as I still consider it my hometown but I just find it humdrum and not a lot of activities to do on weekends. So if you want a laid back slow paced lifestyle, Jacksonville is definitely a great place to live. But if you want a more vibrant place with lots of cultures and diversity, Orlando would be the place. You cannot go wrong with either places as they are both wonderful cities.

You're your father's twin. Everything you said is so right. I live in Clermont and it's getting to be a little too much for me . My nephew lives in Fernandina Beach and I would love to live in a surrounding area after my retirement. Central Florida is becoming over populated and looks too much like city life all over, I am a country bumpkin and just want a quiet life.

As someone who's from Jax...but went to UCF I feel like this video hit most of the spots. If I still lived in FL, (too red politically for me, I gotta live in a blue state)...it would have to be Orlando. Not really a beach guy or a theme park guy, but the restaurants, bars, downtown nightlife, festivals, diversity, hustle/bustle, public transportation investments to connect to South Florida, and the overall acceptance of progressive ideas is what sold me on Orlando. Jax just can't compare. It's mainly a family/military town with a North Jax violence problem. It's slower paced, but that's not gonna attract younger people or folks from places outside the Southeast region...but that's what Jax wants to do I guess. Sure there's great Healthcare and multiple industries especially in insurance, investments, and finance...but they're so spread out in Baymeadows and random spots on the Southside. There's literally no central area to congregate for young working adults. Orlando is extending Sunrail and performing art centers and new urban developments all over the core and UCF stays building new projects, it's unrecognizable from 10 years ago. Meanwhile Jax lost the Landing and funding for Khan's "Lot J". Plus Jax isn't a beach town since it takes the same amount of time to get from OceanWay or deep Westside to the beaches as it takes someone from East Orlando/Oveido/UCF area to Cocoa or Daytona. But to each their own...I just feel like it's weird for anyone under 40 to like Jax over Orlando if they want a city vibe with a FL twist.

Nice video brother.. just to clean up a few things. I think you meant that Orlando was more spread out than Jacksonville hence the population thoughts. The city limits of Jacksonville is of course higher at 900k compared to 300k in Orlando. However the metro of Orlando is approaching 3 million while Jacksonville hovers around 2.1, just for clarity sake 😊. Keep up the good work though brother!

I'm looking for vacation property at the beach. I was in Jacksonville a week ago and loved it. I'm coming from a huge city with serious problems. Even though I've done research and understand what problems folks on KZbin contend Jacksonville has, they pale in comparison to what's going on here in my city. I dig Jacksonville. I'm just waiting for the right property to appear so that I can hopefully snag a small spot by the beach. Thank you for the video.

Some of the info that you gave on Orlando vs Jacksonville were incorrect starting with Jacksonville population. Jacksonville and Duval County are consolidated, with 900k population, Oange with Orlando has 1.5 million residents, metro Jacksonville had 1.4 million population, Orlando 2.8 million. Orlando is the 22 largest metro in the country, Jacksonville is the 43th.
